The reason that people complain of that the sound is bad is probaly because of that there's sound coming into your ears through the more "normal" way. And if you are around roadnoise and you can't get the quality of the sound then buy some earplugs. The earplugs only function is to block sounds from the "normal" way sound comes from. The amount dB they block and how detailed that you want depends on what type of earplugs you buy.
I have the the runs and the pro minis. Even though my pros are newer, I reach for the runs first when listening to podcasts and audiobooks. The Pros do have more bass but I have a harder time hearing spoken word content on them versus the runs.
@@iliaconrad219 Have you had a chance to test the vocal EQ? I'm upgrading from their older Trekz Air and mostly listen to podcasts, so curious to hear your opinion.
I own and love the Pro's, ditched the airpods. Definitely a great product and I average 9.5 hours between charges without letting then go dead. Have them everywhere now.
@@jordankendall8163 Thanks for responding. I ended up buying them and returning them. I did start to feel the pressure after about an hour of wearing. I ended up just getting a cheap pair of over ear foam headphones for 15 bucks that fit the bill
Thanks for the nice review. Among these three, I think Openrun Pro is the best, and of course, its price is also the highest. The fact is, I have an Openrun Pro that works very well. However, the one I used the most this year is Wissonly Hi Runner because Openrun Pro has too few usage scenarios, and Hi Runner can be used in many scenarios, such as swimming, surfing, running, hiking, and so on.
I have the move that i bought about 2 years ago I get over 12 hours of use a day I work as a security guard overnight and bought them so I could hear my surroundings while I have a RU-vid video playing on the background
Awesome Video, My question is how was the user experience as a person who wears glasses? Definitely interested in these for running but come in contact with wild dogs and animals sometimes and want to have more awareness during my run. Would love to know how nice they play with glasses frames.
Hi, great question. Wearing glasses go well together with all three models, and best with the open run pro and the open run. My advice is to put first your glasses and then the headphones
The headphones are good. Extra good coz you have to press the buttons but not good coz the person sitting next to you is going to hear what you listen 😂
Greeting from India Dion sir, actually I was unaware of bone conduction technology. And I didn’t even hear about this product. Well, the product seems suitable for me as I can be present in surrounding environments as I am able to listen surrounding. Majorly I use headphones with RU-vid and most of my videos are of knowledge purpose. So, it’s really disruptive to remove headphones when someone tries to talk with me and I have to pause the video. With this product, it seems so user friendly. Keep comparing and reviewing all tech products. I like getting knowledge from you 12:05
I've been using Samsung's Buds live's for few years now and while they let outside noise trough very well, I've had a ton of issues with massive wind noise when cycling due to how air hits them. Any idea if these produce some kind of wind effect that makes them harder to hear when cycling semi quickly?
I'm flabbergasted all you talked about was music and comfort.... I use these 90% for phone conversations Bluetooth to my cell phone and enjoy that benefit.... Why in the world did you not discuss the quality of phone call and the pros and calls a conversation. The noise-cancelling absolutely sucks on all of them. I have not used the pro. Dude, do a video about the phone quality and conversational experience Nachtmusik. Thank you!
Any battery wears out over the years, how many years have all these headphones been lost and what to do when the battery stops holding? is it possible to replace it or just buy new headphones?
i use the pro wen sitting with my wife so i can still play games with sound and still hear her and the tv work so good and we can cuddle and still do what i want (playing games) and she watch her fav soap or whatever and can still talk and stuff
I was just looking out brother, this guy and his "agent" scammed me out of money, I just don't want anybody else to go through that because of him and his team
I absolutely hate the feeling I get when I have to wear my sunglasses with these design headphones, they hurt after awhile even more than actually using full covered headphone and seeing that I've never been surprised by traffic or people while using my current headphones I don't see a valid reason to switch.
good example of a bad reviewer. 8:00 both open run and open run pro have two noise cancelling mics call quality section without mic sound samples - garbage that's couple things i noticed just watching one minute because that's the only thing i'm trying to figure out
One thing these youtubers will never tell you is that these things glitch randomly and die eventually. I’ve gone through 2 warranties and 2 new openruns, but they’re all the same. There is a flaw in them that Shokz can’t figure out. Eventually, I gave up and went back to Airpods Pro. Don’t make me say I told you so.
How is having a proprietary magnetic connector a "feature" on the more premium headphones than USB C? As someone who wants to avoid managing multiple cables, especially when traveling I'd choose the MOVE than the others.
I have used the open run for a year now… very comfortable and have been very happy with it… unfortunately… the charging port started to corrode and rust… maybe because of my sweat… now the port is deformed and can no longer charge. Lesson learned… now i bought the open move to try out… hoping to avoid what happened to the charging port.
i do feel that these are slightly overpriced in general, but they do sound good so long as you keep the volume below about 85-90% which you should be if youre using them for their advertised purpose; if you try to crank it they sound like a$$. i got the openrun pro and overall im happy with them, this is not my 1st bone induction headset and my last one (from a different company) had the same volume issue so its probably just a quirk of the technology. i do like the way the controls are layed out on them, and they are COMFORTABLE, i have often forgotten i was wearing them.
Just saw a ton of people using bone conduction headphones while traveling through airports this last week. You've nailed it with these reviews. Thanks!
I like my open move better than the open run pro. When im wearing ear protection at work on a construction site i can actually hear the music louder and better
Own the OpenMove and even though the sound is not the best, I treat it as background music. I paid £65 for my headphone. The button controls are great. I like the fact that I can charge the Moves anywhere and don't need to worry about USB-C cables. I would hate to lose or damage the propriety cable for Run or Pro. Good detailed review.
Hi. Did you find the OpenRun and OpenRun Pro louder than OpenMove? Specs say 96dB vs 105dB in both OpenRun models. But I do not know if those 9dB are noticeable. The PROs are too expensive as I will be using them mostly in office environment (for phone calls) and sometimes for cycling. I have the OpenMove, which are great but they could have been just a bit louder. And I am thinking of replacing them with the PRO model. Thnx.
This is very interesting. It's my first time hearing about bone conduction headphones. This sounds really appealing to me because I'm always listening to music and have to respond to people. I'm definitely going to research this more because I want a middle ground between earphones and headphones and this seems to be the case. My top pick so far would be the Pros, mainly sounds quality, for battery life & it can be used at lower volume. I listen to a lot of bass heavy music and use earphones and headphones for long periods of time. Also the band going around the back seems great because it wouldn't mess up my afro. Just one question: are you able to listen to music leaning your head against a wall?
If you usually listen to bass heavy music, you will probably not like these. Even though the pro does have some bass to it, it's no where near a cheap pair of headphones. These are great for watching youtube, listening to podcasts, just anything where you prefer to hear the vocals and mids more. They're also great for people who are outside a lot, whether it's for exercising or working because they can be aware of their surroundings. I would also say that they are good for office work as well, if you tend to talk to the people around you while working. They're really not that ideal for enjoying music or watching movies because they really do lack bass.
I think I’ll go for the base model to try and I’m worried a bit about the music volume I’d have to use especially if I go to the gym. I have my regular earbuds for everything else but I’m interested in trying this to workout. One of my earbuds kind of goes loose while so I’d love to try this. Scared about the sound since so many say they hate it and need to put it to the max
Thank you for the exhaustive video. Which model would you suggest for just audio books listening, considering that sometimes the volume of the recording is quite low. Thank you.
It's absurd and not confidence inspiring that the Pro model is dramatically LESS water/dirt resistant than the cheaper model! Is it an older model? What's the point of the annoying proprietary charge connection if not a watertight seal?!
Shokz are great! I’ve been wearing open run daily for audiobooks and quite often I forget that they are on until I get a phone call and realize I don’t need to hold my phone up to my ear. Just bought the pro as the + button is wearing out but it’s lasted me over 3 years. I rate the open run: 9 out of 10, the only downside is you can’t hear the audio around white noise (fans, refrigerators, compressors, air conditioners, etc.) I hope the open run pro will fix that 😅
This technology is so cool. I have ear issues because I'm prone to getting ear infections, and a lot of times my ears hurt during a run because I have to shove my earbuds into my ears so hard to get them to stay in, even with the kind that clip around your ears. I also don't like the idea of getting sweaty and hot and having my ears basically acting as a closed off incubator for bacteria. I'm going to the store tomorrow to see if they have any for people to try before buying, because the only thing keeping me from taking the plunge is not knowing how bad the audio bleeding is and not knowing the audio quality. I think this tech has the potential to really help some peeps with medical issues, so that's great. I have a deaf friend with a brain implant that connects to an earpiece that kind of lets him hear, and this seems like a baby version of that, without the need for brain surgery lol.
If you can't find them locally, keep in mind they offer either a thirty day or a forty five day money back guarantee. (Can't recall exactly, sorry.) You should know within a few days whether or not you can go with these.
Hi, Is there any set that can b used for swimming that can b play forward and rewind on the same track ? I cant understand why they dont bring that function
Still seems a long way for bone conduction headphones to become mainstream. I think Sony Link buds are a better choice if you want to hear your surroundings majorly bcos I wouldn’t want anyone to hear what I’m listening to!
hi, it seems that with my OpenRun Pro Mini, the "digital assistant" function triggers on my iPhone, but the mic on the OpenRun Pro Mini doesn't work with Siri.. it only works with the mic on my iPhone..
I'm a drummer. I use these everyday all day long. However, as a performer, these let all the stage sound in and don't work at all for in ear monitoring. Plus, using bluetooth as in ears can have latency issues in live monitoring. I use AZ10 inears, and they are amazing.
Is it possible to skip forward and back in the middle of a song or podcast? For example 10 seconds backwards in case you miss something during a podcast? Maybe if you momentarily loose concentration or if the noise of a bus drowns out the sound?
I have the pro. Best part is if there wasn’t music coming out of them you would not know you were wearing them. Great battery life as well. My beats wireless sound better however they are not sweat proof and bulkier and of course can not hear your surroundings as well. These are great. The list price is a lot however they come with a hard case and they seem incredibly durable. I hope they outlive the other headphones I have had.
Wait, they don't come with ear plugs anymore??😂 if you're trying to get the full experience out of any of these, put in some ear plugs. I wear the airs at work in a factory and love them. Can listen to music and utilize ear protection.
