Private Key files can exist unencrypted or encrypted. But often they exist in the opposite format that you need them in ;). In this lesson we'll look at the commands to add Encryption to a Private Key file, and the commands to remove Encryption from a Private Key file (i.e., Decrypt a Private Key file).
This lesson is a preview lesson from my OpenSSL Training Course:
classes.pracnet.net/courses/o...
The lessons in this course follow the sections of the OpenSSL Cheat Sheet, available for free at the link above (no registration required).

Just saw your channel on Reddit and it’s amazing. Thanks for making them. You ever think about doing one of these videos on enterprise versions of WPA2/3 and what a radius server is? I don’t know myself. Thanks

Hi Rawcus. Thanks for the kind note. Wifi encryption wasn't high on my list, but it could be fun. A lot of the encryption/securing concepts overlap with other stuff I've put together (SSL/TLS), so it shouldn't be too difficult to research and learn. Maybe in the future, thanks for the suggestion. Out of curiosity, what where on Reddit did you find a reference to my content, would be curious to check it out =)

Great to see more from you. Just a heads up, at 5:40, it sounds like you say 'the original encrypted file', and I'm pretty sure you meant to say 'the original unencrypted file', considering it was unencrypted before you encrypted it and renamed it RSA-KEY1-ENC. My apologies if I'm wrong or missing something. But, otherwise, just thought you may want to add some red text and republish, so as not to confuse anybody. As always, great content, and thank you.

Also, I won access to the SSL/TLS course, it was excellent. I'd encourage anyone to buy it. It did not include this content, though, as I recall.

Oops, good catch. Yes, that should have been the original "unencrypted" file. =). In any case, thanks for the kind note, Scott!
