In this video, I will teach you how to generate digital certificates using OpenSSL. I will show you how to generate a self-signed and a signed certificates. Some certificates may need a specific extension to be applied to it so I will also show you how to apply various X.509 v3 extensions using OpenSSL.

Awesome video! I have few questions: 1. Is it possible to use openssl to create certificate that has prove key in it? (I suppose it's in the pfx format) 2. Can I use diacritics in a language other than English, e.g. in organizational unit? 3. How the Certification Path is specified in the signed certificate?

Thank you.. 1. a cert can only have public key... no private key. PFX may contain a private key, certificate and other stuff. Technically pfx isn't a certificate but an encrypted archive/bundle or safe bag. 2. I have never tried it so I don't know. What happens when you try using them? I'm curious 🙂 3. It's not specified but formed with the help of Subject Key ID and Authority Key ID.. Watch my video about Digital Certificates for more info..

@@CyberHashira When You use diacritics in openSSL You basically get other characters that are something different than used diacritics. I need to re watch Your videos about certificates because I clearly missed something :)
