Cher, Anastacia, Shakira, Tanita Tikaram, Amy Winehouse, Adele and Annie Lennox come to mind as an example of lower voices in the pop sphere. Diana breaks through imo because not only does she have a nice high register beyond her low end but also her tone is different and also her polyphony lightens it up. Plus she put in the work to get a 4 octave range. Her voice is not just low and dark, it's unique. And not just that, it's pleasant. And it's versatile to the point you can almost fit the other singer's voices within hers. Her latest work on the masked singer showed some pretty impressive mimic skills also. In short, she will succeed because, quite frankly, she's a female singer of superior ability.

She did a really renditions of the songs Sweet Dreams and California Dreaming. But the one I was most impressed by was her performance of an aria from Borodin's Prince Igor. She can actually sing like an actual soprano. It was very impressive.

Главное достоинство данного видеоклипа, на мой взгляд - очень хорошая, запоминающаяся актёрская работа - которая и для самой исполнительницы, насколько я могу судить, была здесь наиболее важна. Вокальная партия здесь слишком отшлифована - о чём он и сказал. Той остроты, что намечалась в самом первом, концертном исполнении - мне здесь не хватает. Жаль, что ему не попался на глаза этот "сырой" ролик с концертным видео (в красном кимоно) - там было больше материала для анализа; там было более живое, более энергичное, более рискованное, и в конечном счёте, более впечатляющее исполнение - выходящее за рамки обычной поп-музыки. А здесь это качественная, близкая к мейнстримной поп-музыка. Оперный певец, без сомнения впечатлённый "Реченькой" и "Can't Help Falling in Love", это заметил - и сдержанно похвалил Диану Анкудинову за то, что она умеет работать и в таком стиле. Действительно, она и это умеет делать ничуть не хуже других популярных поп-певиц. Но думаю, многие её поклонники были бы огорчены, если бы она сделала именно такой окончательный выбор - и стала бы работать дальше преимущественно в этом жанре. Мы готовы принимать такую музыку; но хотелось бы, чтобы она была лишь дополнением к другой музыке. К той музыке, которую не способен исполнять никто, кроме Дианы Анкудиновой. К музыке, заставляющей нас вспоминать и о "Реченьке", и о песне Элвиса Пресли. К музыке, где она демонстрирует нам свой коронный анкудиновский, тёмный, ни с чем не сравнимый тембр, свои неповторимые интонации, свою настоящую энергию. Это не только такие экстремальные вещи, как "Я тебя отвоюю", "Can't Help Falling in Love" или "Sweet Dreams"- которые для всех бесспорны. Thankyou for your very interesting analysis. Diana Ankudinova's voice seems to be developing all the time. She is cirtainly working hard. Diana recently appeared on 9 episodes of the Russian version of The Masked Singer. In one episode Diana reached a top note at C6. Which we had never heard before. On another episode her bottom was Eflat3. The song with the new top was a re-working of the Sia cover of the Mamas and Papas 'California Dreaming'. I can't find you a reliable link to the performance, unfortunately, as the Russian channel seems to be pretty actively blocked. Perhaps someone else can help? I am looking forward to your collaboration. It will be great!

Russian Russian, when you try to copy it, you get almost no accent) Diana is a multi-faceted singer: from arias from Russian operas to rock. Unique timbre and wonderful artistry!

I really don't care what genre she performs all I want is to hear it and devour the sound. Especially when it's impromptu vocalizing the melody. Those flights of vocal fancy are cinematic and ensconce the listener in the story of the song. Her timbre is my addiction.
