You are one of my favorite reactors, she just reimagined this song with the original song writer to celebrate 25 years since its release. FYI, she works on her craft on her own and does not have a vocal coach, she takes her inspiration from multitude of singers like Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Demi, etc.

Their is a wish bus in California, it’s in LA called wish USA. EZ mil recently sang on it and he’s blowing it up. He’s another A+ talent for sure and Morrisette never disappoint.

As excited as I was to see Morrisette's 'Shine" being reacted to, I was as equally excited to see it was you. To my untrained ear you make it so very interesting to hear what it is she's accomplishing. Kinda' like when people who don't understand the nuances of a great batter facing a great pitcher in baseball and having a great announcer ( in this case you ) explaining it in such a way that people understand.

You’re absolutely right. Thank you for recognizing her talent. It’s mind blowing how talented she is. I don’t understand why she’s not as famous as she should be by now. There’s so much new talents out there that is not even close to her level but getting more attentions and exposures. It’s time for people most specially in North America to accept that the color of your skin or where you came from should not be a barrier to be recognized all over the world. It’s time to wake up and give Morissette the recognition that she deserves. Morissette is simply the best period!!!! If there’s any vocalists out there who thinks that they’re better than her, it’s time for a showdown LIVE. I mean anyone!!! Her voice is exactly the same weather it’s pre recorded or live. Can’t tell the difference. That’s how good she is. I know for a fact that there’s so many famous singers who’s making millions of dollars who are very scared to sing live. That’s why when they perform live their background music are much louder than their microphone and adding so much effects to cover for their mistakes. Morissette’s voice is perfect in all aspects. She is such a professional. Adonis stated that he suggested that she sit this one out but Mori persisted. You can tell there is a little strain but nevertheless it was still beautiful.

Yes! Some additional background for Jess: She recorded this back when the new Aladdin movie was coming out. Since she was chosen by Disney to sing the Filipino remake of A Whole New World, she was doing a ton of performances and appearances in addition to her norm and not getting enough vocal rest. I know that's not ideal and not something you want to do repeatedly, but I love the slight rasp it gives her voice in this performance. Also ... there was an earthquake earlier that day! The usual bad traffic was even worse afterward, so there was the added stress of trying to make it to the Wish Bus on time. I vaguely recall her saying on Insta that she wasn't able to do the full number of performances due to arriving later than planned. I'm grateful we got this performance from that day!

Your reaction to Morissette is spot on. The squeaks are intentional and make her skills as a world class singer even better. I have listened to her version of Gary Valenciano's song "Could you be my Messiah" at least 20 times where her skills as a person who can sing anything is amazing. She sits on the throne with Dimash and Sohyang as some of the best voices in the world.

She was 3 years old when her family discovered her talent in singing when she was left alone with a karaoke machine and singing a Regine Velasquez song "You Are My Song". Only by listening, she can recreate what she have heard. She's an inveterate listener and can patiently listen not only to great singers , but also to the voice of waiters in restaurants or children in the playground. She's always question the givens, trying new ideas and accept others' contribution to her thinking process. Always seeking improvement, solutions, speed in action. She is creative beyond measure. Our graduates from University of the Philippines go to Julliard during my time . Evelyn Mandac became a soloist for the San Francisco symphony orchestra in the 1970s and did Madame Butterfly for CBC. The Madrigal singers is the product of the same university.

An awesome reaction Jess!👍 Morissette’s song list is extensive but perhaps check out her performances through Stages Sessions (Could You Be Messiah, Defying Gravity, She Used To Be Mine, etc) which showcase her Musical Theatre vocal skills. Most of those performances are to a sound track with raw vocals (with a little reverb). Looking forward to more Morissette reactions!
