The location was Bronson Cave in Griffith Park which was used in the original BATMAN TV series in the 1960's.

My absolute favorite part of this is Mitch’s crescendo over ‘the great I am’. So good. Fun fact: Kirstie kept blowing her candle out with her powerhouse voice. In a few shots they replaced it with an LED candle, and you can see smoke now and then from blowing it out. Lol - once you see it you can’t NOT see it. And Maggie - really? With the chocolate covered strawberries?!? They are my favorite food on the planet. 🤤 🤤

Fun fact: the cave they recorded in is the Bat cave from the old Batman TV series. Also... Avi just released his latest three days ago. All Is Well feat. Joy Williams from The Civil Wars. Great pairing, beautiful song they co-wrote.

Mary did you know is so good. One of my absolute favorites of PTX.

I'm so confused by the fact that so many people have apparently not heard this song before? It's definitely PTX most famous song and it always plays on my radio station during December.

Assuming that they actually recorded this in a cave, it was a genius move. The cave itself is an incredible instrument for this song.

Thanks for the double take on the great I am. I've had the hardest time hearing where Scott goes on that. Probably had the Kirstin goose bumps in my ears.

Might have been the first song we really heard Kevin sing a small lead in. Kirstin was backlit to give her the Virgin Mary halo effect.

The cave is the same cave used in the old Batman TV show in the 60s at the Bat Cave.

Kirstin looks like an actual angel here with the halo of light from the cave entrance.

You need to listen to Michael English singing this. It was written by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene. Lowry and English were band mates together, and toured with the Gaither Vocal Band. I haven't been to a State or County or local fair for many years, but a lot of bands, vocalists would perform at fairs and festivals. Lol I think when I saw the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in the late 60s it was before anyone really knew who they were.

Did you look at the ‘behind the scenes’ creating the album Evergreen? It gives you insight into their creative process.

At the big push, “it’s the great I am!”… listen to Kevin percussion sounds. Beautifully controlled with great crescendo to get them into that next part!

You’re right! This is becoming my favorite. My favorite Christmas song used to be “The Christmas Song” (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire) by Nat King Cole, written by Mel Torme’ ( The Velvet Fog). I Love your little baby add on background; They are a nice touch and your little Christmas penguin is so adorable; Just like you! This video has a subtle reference to Kirstin portraying Mary by using the lighting behind her, in some of the shots, to make it appear as though she has a halo around her head... Very clever.

Hey Maggie, I'm not sure if you have seen it but voiceplay did a song a while back that you need to check out: "If I were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof featuring Ashley Diane. I bring this up because Voiceplays next song is "We Don't Talk about Bruno" and they brought Ashley back to sing with them for it.

Mark is sitting down due to being stricken with multiple sclerosis but is still able to hold his note for about 17 seconds twice in his song. He wrote the lyrics to originally be used on Christmas cards. Several years later his friend, Buddy Green wrote the musical score. ENJOY❗🤗
