It’s actually pronounced “Lay-vay”, which I only know because I’ve followed her on TikTok for a couple years and I pronounced it wrong at the beginning too. Her song “Let You Break My Heart Again” is my favorite, it’s very soft and pretty.
The performance had a “classic Hollywood musical” feel to it. I could picture Doris Day or Debbie Reynolds singing this, with Cary Grant or Leslie Nielsen hovering in the background
I’d heard her name but never any of her actual performances. Cute, upbeat song. Definitely unique that she didn’t bother to sync her lip syncing. Interesting R&A!
Big fan of Laufey. Just leaves you in a good mood. She's a skilled guitarist, pianist, and cellist as well. Her live performances are good as well. She gave an entire concert with the Icelandic Philharmonic that is good, or her ones from with just her singing and playing guitar, piano, or cello.
Hi! I’d like to recommend you a crossover group from South Korea(from Phantom Singer 4 this year) I discovered recently. Its name is “Forténa” that consists four tenors(I’ve heard it’s the first crossover group with four tenors). This group has two count tenors which is unusual for crossover group. One of the members is a very famous count tenor(His name is DQ Lee and played in lots of operas all over the world). Please check their cover songs, “Neapolis” and “Demain n’existe pas“ from a competition program(phantom singer 4). I’m sure you would like them and I’d love to hear your opinion about their singing! Thanks!
her name is Laufey (pronounced lay-vay) she is a jazz and bossa nova singer! (mainly jazz) she is from iceland and had a twin sister named junia (pronounced yunia) she is also a cellist, and pianist and her sister is a violinist! she is also a grammy winner! (she won a grammy for top traditional pop album!
I've never heard her but know she's nominated against PTX for a grammy this year so thought I'd check her out! Very nice and not at all what I expected. Very unique vibe and clearly very good. Ofc always gonna wish Pentatonix wins but if this girl happens to win over them I would respect that a lot
I have watched several of her videos, and prefer her videos with the orchestra, and the simple ones from her “living room.” Also, just for fun she has a twin; and she plays multiple instruments.
I haven't listened to Laufey much, but she's amazing! I don't think this music video really does her justice. Check out her collab with Norah Jones, e.g. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" Or the first thing I heard from her - Sunny side of the street
Beautiful. A must listen to duet with Dimash and Placido Domingo. It’s breathtaking. You have said you would like to hear Dimash sing opera, well here’s the perfect opportunity. Thanks!🎼🎶🎤❤️
well this was interesting indeed, Peter. Without your analysis I would have skipped over it as too vanilla. But you explained more than I knew I could hear and now it's more impressive than it is vanilla.
React to another Brazilian singers: - Chitãozinho e Xororó: Se Deus me Ouvisse (live with orchestra) - Chitãozinho e Xororó & Zé Ramalho: Sinônimos - Sandy Leah: Salto - Sandy Leah & Xororó: Meu Disface I bet you will love their voices as well ❤
Cute song. Not something I would expect you to analyze. If I may make a suggestion, Could you please Do your interviews With the picture side-by-side. It makes it feel like you're talking to somebody and not yourself. Also, Your teeth are glowing. You don't need to whiten them anymore. 😉
