Hey Freddie, how long have you had the car? Is it new to you or have you had it a while? Typically if the button illuminates red during operation one of a couple of things is happening. Either the partition in the trunk is not in the correct position (or the sensor in the trunk at least doesn't think it is) Opening and closing the partition and verifying the thing is fully latched or "clicked in to place" typically resolves this. The other possibility is that there is something in the convertible top (origami) mechanism that is jammed or has too much resistance during operation. This resistance will also trip the sensors and tell the mechanism not to operate any further to prevent damage. Lubrication may be necessary, the nylon "cords" may be failing that operate some of the trim panels, or there may be some other mechanical part jamming up. Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
