I have briefly heard a small portion of this story. You present it so well, and it’s amazing to hear the lengths that they were planning to go. Thanks for making this video!

IT had been done before by the Wehrmacht; and by the allies as well. This was the most elaborate operation they attempted but they simply no longer had the resources or the personnel to really succeed like they wanted. It certainly did have a significant impact but nothing would have changed the outcome

I had a brother who fought in the Battle of the Bugle and he captured 2 of the German soldiers in American uniforms. They were using the latrine ( bathroom) and he noticed their striped underwear which was a dead giveaway that they were the enemy. He and another soldier was instructed to “ watch” them . When they attempted to leave they were taken prisoners by my brother and the other soldier with him. I’m still wondering today if they were among the German soldiers executed for wearing American uniforms during the Battle of the Bugle

Hitler didn't care about doing war crimes? I can't imagine.

Even if the Wehrmacht had won the Battle of the Bulge by some miracle (which was simply impossible at the time, the Germans were already beaten badly after Operations Overlord and Bagration had been completed), they wouldn't have been able to push the Allies off Europe. Yes, Allied armies would have been cut off in Belgium and yes, many soldiers could have been taken prisoner. But the western Allies and especially the Americans would have been able to absorb these losses. Speculation about the Wehrmacht pushing the western Allies back into the sea is completely ahistorical and downright wrong. German operations Greif and Wacht am Rhein were delusional plans and probably lead to an earlier end of Nazi Germany.

to ANSWER the question Mike poses at the end..... Replace "Hiroshima" with "Berlin" in the History books. Sorry folks. the "1946 Wunderwaffe" aesthetic makes for fun games and alt-history novels, but the fact is the only reason Germany wasn't hit with the Atom Bomb was because they surrendered before it was ready.

Plus there was one British and one American army fighting in Italy so the allies wouldn't have been "pushed out of Europe"
