After looking it up seemingly no more than one person died of radiation related issues from this test. They ran quite a few tests throughout the years on these people and for the most part it was determined as recently as 2006 that sun exposure due to their military life style was a far greater risk of cancer than the radiation involved in the test. Despite the radiation being intense in the blast zone the only people who went near it were wearing proper protective gear and those without gear were kept at a safe distance during the test. The greatest risk group during the test were the pilots taking airborne samples.

More likely, they died of cancers from all the constant cigarette smoking in the mid 20th century. 😜

Just where did you get that information when already the british MOD has admitted liability and seeks to settle it's cases with compensation what's more the cases was pursued with evidence of Uranium contamination from an airfield on Christmas Island and they never tested british nuclear bombs there did they?..Legal cases in the UK continue with damages caused to the servicemens children still yet to be tested and considered only this this time it's through the European Court of Justice...Check out your facts before you spoil and disregard the name family and suffering of British servicemen and there children whose lives where forsaken by an negligent Ministery of Defence who by legal edict and judgrment of the court is undoubtedly guilty of this conduct..!!

Rubbish. Fish and Marine life have been monitored by the WA government since 1993. I worked and fished amongst the Montebellow islands, as part of a pearl farm posting to the islands in 1995. Plenty of fish life. The greatest risk is ocean warming, this is bleaching the coral. Maybe check your facts, with people who have been there.
