Not even Kenobi; known by all as the greatest defensive stonewall in Star Wars. Even he could not meet him toe to toe without giving ground literally the entire time. His “block or die” performance was exactly that. Block or die. All the way until the moment he leapt away to the “high ground” and baited Vader into jumping after him. Vader beat HIMSELF in that fight…. Yes, he most definitely took down hundreds of Jedi inside the temple. Like what do you even mean “you have a hard time believing” Lmao, it’s in-universe fact kid. WATCH the damn film, read the damn comic. Read the novelization.. Or the Dark Times comics that talk about what it was like inside the temple at one point. Pre-suit Vader is the only one that could do this. If Palpatine could’ve done it himself, he WOULD have. Yoda and Windu would get slaughtered if they tried it as well. Solely pre-suit Darth Vader was able to single-handedly take down the entire Jedi temple, the vast majority of the Jedi order, by himself with the help of some non-force sensitive troopers. It does not matter that they had “more experience” than him in peace time experience. He had a LOT more wartime experience than either one of them. Anakin/Vader surpassed both of them as a swordmaster by ROTS. Vader’s literally claimed to be the greatest swordmaster in galactic history in multiple places. Pre or post suit. Either or. “He is the best there is at what he does, perhaps the best there has ever been, and he knows it.” Direct quote from the ROTS film novelization. Saying he’s the best there is in the same time period that Yoda and Windu both operate, is blatantly telling you he’s surpassed both of them. I mean you see that clear as day by him taking down the entire temple. Not to mention, Sidous literally tells Vader himself that he had surpassed him. “You have done well Lord Vader, you are more skilled than any Sith before you.” That’s including himself. Again, direct quote from the film’s novelization and the film’s comic adaption…. Mace or Yoda neither one could stop pre-suit Darth Vader. The SOLE reason Kenobi did was because of who he was to him, and the fact that Vader did it to HIMSELF after completely dominating Kenobi the entire fight. Purposely allowing it to drag out to “savor victory” and show just how superior he was by that point. And it backfired. Vader “lost” on Mustafar solely due to his own stupidity and tunnel vision because of the state of mind he was in at the time. That’s it. George Lucas even said himself that if Vader had just taken his time on Mustafar and dispatched Kenobi, he THEN would have went and killed Sidious directly afterward. Yoda couldn’t kill Sidious, they stalemated. Solely Anakin/pre-suit Vader was capable of flat out overpowering and fully defeating him. Anakin/Vader had completely surpassed Yoda & Mace as a swordmaster by ROTS. By the end of the war.

By the way Mace Windu also fought a lot during the Clone Wars and he was already considered one of the best Lightsaber Duelist in the universe before. Also Anakin sneak attacking Younglings while all the True Jedi Knights were around the universe fighting Real Wars isn't anything to brag about. The fact is Anakin was nowhere near the level of Mace Windu or Yoda before going Darkside or ever.
