ford9572,,,,,i don't know about you, but that is some thing i would not be looking forward to either a tragic loss of life and for what please tell me, for what
I remember over the summer a Metra Rock Island train struck a vehicle near 107th. The vehicle had a mom and dad, and two little kids in the car. Whoever was driving the car made a very bad decision. The driver chose to drive around the crossing gates instead of waiting for the train to pass, and the gates to go up again. All four people in the car were killed. The train was going 79 mph. It’s not worth it to make a choice between life and death. When you see the crossing gates are down and the lights flashing, the best thing to do is wait until the train has passed, the gates go up and lights stop flashing. It’s that simple
There are so many kids who race trains for fun in my area. I'm 18, but I know better. I've watched train accidents happen. I don't know what I would do if one of my friends were to get hit.
gibb1991,,, if you can, please talk to your buddies about this. racing a train is like playing Russian roulette you might get away with it , for a while. But there is going to be that ONE TIME that round is going to be in the chamber. that one second too late a passenger train that is faster than they thought and the bill is going to come due . the price will be more than they can afford it'll cost them everything they have . the sad thing? some one , or every one else in that car ,,, might have to pay that same tab right along side them. is it worth the risk? is it worth your life if you lose?? YOU decide. If they keep up racing with trains, this tragedy has not only the possiblity of of unfolding before you, It WILL unfold before you . It happens every day. would YOU like to force two policemen to tell YOUR parents that this tragedy has happened to you? be well. stay safe.
I was riding the sounder (commuter rail) from Kent to tacoma in Washington state on a double tracked mainline. As we approached sumner a pedestrian began crossing as soon as our train had crossed. Unfortunately their was an Amtrak train going the other way on the other track. I was on another sounder not too long ago when someone got hit by the same scheduled northbound train. If you don't think this can happen to you it can. It happened to these two individuals.
Imagine those parent's son, or daughter standing behind those police men, unseen, unheard, desperately saying " mom!" "Dad!" "i'm right here!" Can't you see me?" the terror on her or his face when he or she hears the officers tell his or her parents "we're sorry to inform you ,, Mr. and Mrs. x, your son/daughter was killed in a car accident. she/he was killed when the car he/she was in tried beat a train to a rail road crossing and the car was hit by the train. as it tried to cross. " Good God ! What a horrible thing to have to tell some one!
it is rude to ask this,, but the spooky piano music in the back round what piece is being played? it's morbid to ask, I know. but I have heard it somewhere before
Well, I know I've heard it in quite a few US Chemical Safety Board videos, but I have no idea what the name of it is, who composed it, etc. RU-vid's no help either: it has not identified it.
@@TheCarson116 i see in my mind's eye,, the spirit of the victim. standing there desperately trying to make themselves seen, and heard to their parents.. so sad." Mom, Dad i'm right here! can't you see me? cant you hear me?" when my turn in the breach comes ,,, I hope to become a ghost. but not in this way. TheCarson116,, I wonder what is on the other side. there must be something between what's called Heaven and Hell,, for I believe in both. i wonder in a way, just out of wonder. not in a scientific way, and certainly not in an envious or a morbid way. i-- just wonder,,, what's there ? who will I see? sigh-- i don't know how, but I sense that there is something more in store for us than death just being the end of every thing. be well and stay safe. as for me,, I wonder. sorry if I bored you,, but you opened the flood gates, and I had to speak my mind
people think they can beat the train to the crossing, some make a fatal mistake in judgement and some are risk takers the have pulled this stunt before. nine times out of ten they get away with it but then you wonder,,,,, what number chance was this one????? was it worth the price paid to risk it? You decide.
@ford9572 It makes me sick and sad :( The closest thing I've seen to an accident was a truck hitting the gate on a crossing signal as they were coming down. That even got me scared.
Wait and Cody Stacey, how would you like to have been one of those police officers.??? to have to roll up to some one's home, and knock on the door? to have to tell their parents, that their son, their daughter was killed in an accident ? that they were hit by a train, trying to beat it to the crossing, like these men had to? they have to live with what they saw the rest of their lives. it makes me wonder why there aren't more suicides in that damn profession having to do the same thing time and again, has got to wear on you.
@@williammoses6232 I wouldn't want to be them for sure it would hit them so hard that they would live with it for the rest of their life that they would need counseling that all I can imagine
