My dad was never into videogames, but this is the only game my dad and I played all the way through together. Such good memories. To this day I still keep my memory card with his save on it.
this and halo CE was the first games I played with my dad when I was 6! When I found this song I went all the way to eating honey smacks and morning cartoons!!
Man I remember one summer when I was 7 and my brothers were 5. We'd all stay up until the crack of dawn playing this in my room. We'd have our snacks and juice boxes as we all took turns trying to beat this on hard difficulty. I remember passing out to this song when we were all burnt out from the game and just stayed on the main menu. Good times...
you know if you close your eyes and listen to this piece...and really think about rushing up those hills in france....or traveling with your platoon through and open field....any moment from world war 2...if you just try to imagine yourself in the shoes those marines and soldiers and what they went through, it makes this piece feel so amazing and beautiful
Forever will Medal Of Honor live in my heart. I remember receiving it on the Gamecube for the first time, i remember storming the beach with Miller, and i still remember the countless hours i've put it into it as a young child to beat this game. Forever will this game live on and not be forgotten to me. Thank you EA and Michael Giacchino for this masterpiece. Just thank you. Thank you to the veterans who this game honors. This game will live on in all our hearts.
I know I've heard this score since 2001ish, but Michael Giacchino is starting to become one of my new favorite composers. My mind was completely blown when I spotted his name in the credits of some of the recent Pixar movies, including The Incredibles, Up, and even Inside Out. He won an Oscar for Up, and I'm sure he's gonna be up for another next year. What a great composer.
I remember playing the crap out of this and MOH Rising Sun as a child. I would sit and listen to this song before playing too. My dad would always try to play and keep up with me in both the multiplayers and coop. Haha. This song returned me to those nostalgic memories and always will, them feels.
nriab23 I definitely feel the campaign story-telling magic is missing from the more modern FPS, I think the last modern FPS campaign I fully completed from any CoD or MoH was CoD: MW... I may have changed since then but the campaigns from the newer games just weren't capable of keeping me captivated enough like this one and MoH RS, even the first CoDs... It's a shame that the main focus of the new FPS games is in the multiplayer but I understand why they are putting more focus into it nowadays. I can't even really recall any major musical pieces in the newer games that have the power to unlock memories like the ones I have from these games. Ha
I remember the first time I played this game I had cuban neighbor who was an adult and I was very young. He knew how much I liked military stuff, so he let me borrow his copy of Frontline. Times were certainly simpler back then, but part of that came from not having responsibilities lol My only responsibility was crushing this game until I beat it
When the choir comes in, it sounds so unearthly, so beautiful. I get chills up my spine every time. Nostalgia setting in; need to replay this game sometime!
This is truly my favorite game of all time and Rising sun This game, The feeling of my loving military and playing this epic adventure of you the soldier to stop the Nazi's plan to help secure U.S victory, meeting allies, exploring new areas at a young age, loving the M-1 garand, The weapons, the fun and adventure I had with the music that drove me to love this game more then any game I have had ya I have had really great games, but this one You the American Under dog fighting to stop the evil plan going all across Europe to fight and win with music of the gods Fighting not for glory or points but for country! Not playing the games for "dem grapixs" but playing the game for the adventure of one of my favorite subjects Doing this has always looked back on the amazing adventure from bottom to top This is what a FPS should be, not excessive violence, or pretty graphics but the game, the music, The story The connection you have to the character, to you and the feeling of the greatest adventure in your life time not for glory, but for country I will never forget Rising sun or Frontline's, ever It was the only reason to keep my Playstation 2, This to me is one of the best or even the best game ever created
I love the fan base for this game, I used to think I was the only one who felt this deeply impacted but now we have the internet we find so many people who love the game for the same reason.......it's awesome.
I used to hum this song every time I would hop on the game, listening to the theme before pressing start. I appreciate this so much more now that I'm older...
One of the best video game themes I've ever heard in my entire 17 years of living, truly a masterpiece of a video game and a soundtrack, I remember playing this game on my PlayStation 2 back in the day. This song literally makes me cry Everytime I hear it again, and nothing will ever be like it again one of a kind here
An honourable hour of Medal of Honour playing through the beaches of Normandy in a virtual planet war from my childhood. But some how this soundtrack still plays in my mind. Reminds me of the lives that had to die to fight evil
My grandpa was a PT boat squadron commander in the Pacific (Jan. 1942- May '45) and then a destroyer captain (May-Nov. 1945). He'll be 90 this year. I don't ever want to think of him not being here, but since I'm only 20, someday, I guess I'll be here to pass his stories on for years to come.
I don't know how to say, but this music provides me various feelings, such as sadness, fear, peace, joy, pride... that's so mistical and misterious as well. It brings me good memories from my childhood. I used to hear some music composed for some hollywood adventure movies - it was quite similar, but this one is incredibly wonderful. Sorry for my English;)
This song is beautiful, it has all the codes for a perfect war song, right ? Forever burnt in my mind... Back when my dad was still playing WW2 FPS games on PS1/PS2... Childhood memories are bitter sweet asf
Best video game music ever! Even at the age of 10 when I first played it I appreciated how good the music was. Including music like this in games is a good way of getting people interested in other classical music.
Not exactly. More like EA and Disney are a bit too buddy buddy for my taste. I mean I guess if Disney and EA are working together, might as well use everything the other has to offer.
0:00 Sets the mournful, dramatic tone 1:20 A soldier departs for war 1:49 He arrives in the war-torn Europe and prepares of battle 2;17 He experiences combat for the first time 2:46 He sees the horrors of war 3:15 Experiences tragic loss 3:43 He begins to question his own leadership abilities 3:53 Spurred on from the loss, he rallies his troops and leads them to victory 4:10 They achieve victory 4:43 The soldier returns home after the war, a hero, remembering his fallen men
When I hear this song for the first time I feel a deep sense of admiration that comes witha shed of tears. I think about our fallen warriors and the veterans that survived. This is truly a masterpiece!
Same here. I still have my original "brick" PS2. When my 360 broke I brought it out of hiding and started playing all my old games again. That was three years ago. I just bought a new 360 last week. Now my 360 sits proudly next to my PS2. Its just a thing you never throw away. Im keeping it out so I will remember to play it every so often. Makes me feel old typing this. Im only 18! But it feels like so long ago. To those who still play PS2, I salute you. Carry on my good men. Hooah!
Congrats on being like 26 to 27 years old now. Yea man Im 18 myself and I had the brick PlayStation 2. I'd play Frontline and cod big red one all day long when I was little. Nothing can compare to these games like these newer crap games
Producers: "Hey man we need you to make music for a ww2 video game." Michael Giacchino: "Create a timeless masterpiece that fills your heart with nostalgia and makes you tear up at the mere sound of these beautifully played instruments along with these expertly sung vocals? Got it..."
I remember a summer when I had this in the old ps2. Most people don't know what a ps2 looks like, due to spoiling parents.. But I remember when I was 10 when I first played with this. My brothers still lived at the house, and I would watch them play for hours at times, and just would be excited for the suspense, and music.. It made you feel like you we're really there!!! Miss the good ole days when getting older wasn't such a problem... :(
Man this game used to give cold chills. I remember playing it with my friend. No game up-until - and still to this day - really goes as in-depth as moh frontline did. It was like you were actually there.. And I always remember this song playing on the start screen. The memories..
The opening was indeed the most impressive part of the game. Reminded me of saving private Ryan. First war game I ever had, i was really impressed by the atmosphere the game gave me at the time.Frontline is the best medal of honor game of all times (for me).
nostalgia... I remember when the game came out and I played this damn near around the clock and when I beat it on every difficulty I'd play just a few missions and that's it.. arnhem nights, dday, can't remember other missions.. more urban one early in the game I loved just like arnhem too.. man I wish I was a kid again 😳
I was fealing something when i was playing CoD ww2 and battlefield 5 to smth called medal of honor... i just remembered the rising sun but didnt remember the name of this one... i started playing this game when i was 4/5 yo.... hahahha when i also played with the controler backwards... man nostalgia is hitting me, now just thinking that i left my PS2 and awesome games in my other house
To this day I still get goosebumps hearing this God bless the men and women who sacrificed their lives for us to live free without them we are nothing Freedom ain't free that's why we stand
Haha, I remember skipping school to finish this game. The night before I was so engrossed in it, the following day, I waved bye to the school bus and kept playing. This song brings back those old memories...Things have changed so much since then.
I was 12 years old. I got this game for Christmas. I turned my PS2 on and found myself in D-Day. I proceeded to fight my way through the beach. My heart was destroyed when I saw the soldier die before my eyes as he hung from a parachute from a tree. Tanks scared the poop out of me but I still fought. When I won I knew i'd never forget. 8 years later I still don't. :)
I do agree with alot of people here. MOH used to be so epic back in the days, especially MOH Frontline. I used to play this game for hours, over and over again, never got tired of it. And lets not forget the music in the game, totally epic!
