Amin was Afghanistan's Stalin. He brutally suppressed anyone one who opposed him. When the Soviets realized that they couldn't hide his crimes anymore, they killed him.

Noor Muhammed Tarakki was the best President, had he not been killed by Amin the History of Afghanistan would have been different.

The USA got involved in 1981. It was Pakistan who was there since 1979, from day one. 2 years later the Yanks wanted in.

this is pase. it depends on whose side you are wishing to highlight and the labels you wish to use; and the data you wish to present. At the end of the day, who wins matters.

Neither Amin nor Karmal was a president, each of them held an office of the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.
