John Suprin visited the Dole Institute of Politics to discuss the Battle of Moscow and the German strategic offensive, Operation Typhoon.
The Battle for Moscow, which took place between October 1941 and January 1942 during World War II, involved Germany's attempts to push into the Russian city of Moscow. The German offensive strategy, named Operation Typhoon, planned to weaken Moscow's defenses by using tanks to sever key Russian railway systems while the main force moved directly on the city. The Russian army was able to successfully defend Moscow, and enacted a counter-offensive, which pushed the German Army back.
