Been in TN 16 days for new Granddaughter. Miss my Ohio Trains. 😕 Watching yours… Every day the In-Laws show up with their 4 Corgis, 2 are new Pups. The oldest (7) looks like Ben, but they are all girls. 3 are Ben’s colors, one is Black White Tan. 😊

I like how you switch the points on your turnouts with your fingers. I am interested doing that with my hon3 pike. Is there anything special on how they snap into place?

I use peco small electrofrog turnouts. the peco have a spring on the points so they snap and stay in place on either throw.

Suggestion: Try #5 or #7 bamboo knitting needles (instead of skewers). I like the #5 as they work well with N scale and HO. But if you are doing only HO, maybe try the #7, which is slightly larger. I put a piece of heat shrink in the center to add a little extra grip.

The idea of moving box cars between sound traxx and Athearn is pretty neat! It doesn't necessarily apply to you since you're modeling a class 1 but some smaller railroads have some unique equipment in "captive service" meaning they aren't able to be interchanged due to being older than the 50 year max for freight cars. The railroad that I model has a large number of box cars that are captive between two "WestRock" cardboard facilities.

Running from soundtracks to Athearn is a great idea!! One of the plans I model actually sends formaldehyde tanks to two of the particleboard and plywood processing plants nearby. So they’re definitely a precedent for it in the real world. Happy accidents. 😊

Next time Rick, enter Ben in the race. Then go to Walgreens and have them print you out a life sized photo of Captain Stubing and Julie. Stand at the finish line with that and Ben will win the race for sure! 😉

I think the AKC changed as at least at Westminster Kennel Club dog show they have both the corgi with a tail and corgi's without the tail in separate breed variations
