it wasn't Martin on drums it was Martin on drums - haha (axenrot) but yeah i loved the keyboard addition - I think they only recorded the moor and face of melinda for DVD and the other songs only for this album are fan recordings - but they are great live and yeah i didnt see the godhead's lament live video before i saw your previous video - so to pick the best quality out of the fan ones i think :) \m/

Camel released "Never Let Go" (1973) The track instrumentation 'Benighted' is a homage dedicated in honor to 'Camel' and Andy Latimer's guitar style "Benighted" is an example of 'Camel' influence on Opeth's music; it's resemblance to "Never Let Go". who Åkerfeldt was influenced by Andy Latimer (Camel) Benighted" from 'Still Life' is a acoustical piece track in the vein of "Harvest" + "Hours of Wealth" or anything on "Damnation" between "Godhead's Lament" and "Moonlapse Vertigo." It is also much shorter than both songs. This was the year (2012) when 'Opeth' opened for mainstream headliners at Download 2012 also toured with 'Anathema' that same year. Opeth has a way of painting incredibly vivid scenes through their songs. Musical moments are exquisitely crafted, accentuating an epic moment described through Åkerfeldt’s lyrics, or underscoring a juncture where there’s some momentary solace, as some tragedy is surely about to unfold. Every single song conjures up distinct imagery, and I have an explicit picture in my head for several songs: stills that pop into my head the minute their melodies reverberate through. While I've enjoyed different projects from Opeth more than others over the years, perhaps no other album depicts its moments as consistently and clearly as those found on their 4th full length album, 'Still Life'. Åkerfeldt’s lyrics are typical conceptual in some way, honing in on a particular theme he wants to convey in the song. Now the definition of what makes a concept album can feel somewhat nebulous, but I’ll simply classify it as telling a complete story across its track listing. Plenty of albums across all genres tell stories or deal with themes within individual tracks on said projects, but depicting a complete tale across a set amount of tracks is something else entirely. in 'Still Life', Opeth musically portray a strong story; each song having its own theme to put forward a different element. Following this methodical but effective approach, Åkerfeldt based them on a short story he was writing :)
I never understood why opeth is big in some countries and not others like the uk? they played its first U.S. concert at the Milwaukee Metalfest. Blackwater Park, titled and still very big today, especially in the U.S
