Sorry the voiceover is rough in this one. I’m having a combination of computer issues that won’t save my mic settings and background noise issues now that my furnace is running for the year. I’ve tweaked some settings and I’ll have to find a new location to record from that’s not so close to furnace.
It might be worse for headphone users. I forgot to put mine away and a certain cat chewed them up. I usually try to test the sound with and without and any issues are always way worse with headphones.
Oh that’s good to hear. I could definitely catch the furnace in a lot of the voiceover. It was most noticeable when the audio clip stopped and it got really quiet. I thought it was kind of annoying but my voice was still clear so I rolled with it. It’s only ever quiet enough to do voiceovers during naps and I didn’t know when my next chance to record it would be if I decided to re-do it lol.
I think we’ve come full circle with red polishes. It was the only color. Then it was the safe color. Then it was old fashioned. Now 80 year old bank tellers are wearing blues and greens, and red is just another option.
Always love seeing your swatches! I don’t think I ever really like OPI shades when they first come out. It’s only when they are 4.99 at Marshall’s 5 years later do I decide I like them. It’s so rare I like a shade right off. 😂
No complaints about the sound here, I’m actually happier with this OPI collection than I have been with everything they’ve put out in the past year 😂 gonna try to snag Ochre the Moon for below retail price and I’ll be good to go :) I always feel like OPI’s descriptions are kinda off but like you said, idk if I can argue with them considering they come directly from the brand
Yes! I’m going to try to cram some Halloween collections in this coming week and then finish up the fall ones that I have and start on holiday stuff. The zodiac collection will be in there somewhere.
@@jessFACE90 I'm excited to see a review of Lights Lacquer, too. I've been intrigued by the brand and wondering how they are since the drama-filled rebrand a couple years ago.
About their collection themes, I always assumed it was something to do with the pandemic -- that they didn't want to romanticize travel during a time when people are not encouraged or able to travel abroad. Fall 2020 had a city theme (either Venice or Milan, can't remember), but that had probably just been planned in advance and they couldn't change it. I think all the collections from 2021 have some kind of connection to LA (the spring collection had the Oscars/awards season theme), which I assume is where the company is based, so it's like a "staycation" theme for them? And then for 2022 I guess they didn't know where the situation was headed w.r.t. the pandemic so they just went with other random themes instead. I am skipping this collection, the shimmery blue one was the only one that stood out a little but can live without it for now. Thanks for the swatches though.
That's a good theory -- I had been thinking about OPI's "usual" themes and wondering why things had changed. I still want them to do a Midwest farmgirl/prairie theme!!
Glad you liked Ochre the Moon like I did! I’ve seen a couple reviews where they say the color was hard to work with and streaky and needed more than 2 coats and I was confused because I didn’t have that experience at all.
Love this! Thanks for another awesome video :) I purchased most of these and love them. Suzie Takes a Sound Bath was my favourite! 💙 Red Veal Your Truth will be perfect for Christmas nail art ❤️
Great review Jess. Ochre at the Moon is one of my favs too. if people are scared to wear this shade they should try it as part of a fall skittle as it works great for that too! ps I am watching this video while painting my nails with NZL Corn Maize. a classic xx
I think my favorite was Clean Slate! As far as Ochre the Moon being an ugly color, I do agree, but for me it’s a lot nicer than Essie’s Homework It from their Study Tips collection! Lol! I bought that specifically because I have nothing like it! 😂 Thanks for the swatches!! Have a great weekend!
I'm really struggling with OPI's description of their own colors. Earth tone blue 😂 Regardless, Ochre the Moon is totally my jam though. I also really liked Cave the Way.
That last red started off warm then dried down cooler. Does that make sense? Cool tones would have more blue wouldn't they? It might look different in person, though. Colors can be really hard. 😂
That makes sense! That’s kind of what I was thinking too. I just thought it was odd that they were pretty vague on the descriptions but then they specify warm when I thought it looked a bit cooler. They’re messing with my head 😂
Thank you for swatches. I may sound really picky, but i cant watch videos with sound this bad. At least you dont talk too fast as you did. I am happy for you that you have a family, but it does really feels like you dont put much passion into this channel... I loved you videos as they were before...
@Eugenia, you know, that's really rude of you. I'm sure JessFace90 works very hard to swatch, review, & post videos for us. Some things are really left better unsaid. If you don't like her videos, simply don't watch. 🤷🏾💯 @JessFace90, Keep up the great work! Thank you for the beautiful swatches! 😊
That was unnecessarily mean. Do you expect every channel to drop thousands on professional quality equipment? For the record I trust jessFace90's reviews more than any other channel as I have been watching them for years and have found their lighting gives the most accurate depiction of what a polish will look like in person. I would happily trade any kind of imperfect sound quality for that (and for the record it's not that bad and didn't bother me in the slightest)
