I always think on it like this. If you have done life as an addict and you've made the decision to get clean, you've gone through that rite of passage of physical withdrawal and you're sticking with it, determined to make it work, then congratulations, you are now a member of the Bad Ass Club. You can wear this new strength you've found like armor. I used to be so nervous in social situations, one of the reasons I started using to begin with, but once I was clean, whenever I got nervous I would remind myself, "You've pulled yourself back from the edge, making small talk with a stranger is nothing." Anyone going through it, stick with it. You have a strength in you that might surprise you.

Bro that is why I began using too because of SOCIAL ANXIETY!!!!!

And I know why and what caused my social anxiety because of emotionally abused growing up and being locked up with no social interaction during my teen years

Even though he isn't with us any more he is still helping so many of us in the addiction community. I'm 4 months clean today from Codeine pills and Ryan played a massive part of it, you know them days when you wake up and your day starts at 3am, I was genuinely upset when I found out he passed, it made me cry to be honest. Rest in peace Ryan, you was such an amazing man and you won the battle too! ❤

Never stop quitting! The hell Ryan references was so much bigger in my mind than it actually was as I was going through it. I chose honesty and a willingness to do whatever it took to get my soul back. I shed the ego and humbled myself. I told those who really love me that I fucked up and I needed help to beat this demon that I couldn’t escape on my own. I was lucky enough to get caught and confronted or else I wouldn’t be here today. Once it was all out there, I cried out to the almighty and my fam and said, “I surrender.” Stay strong... really dig in deep and find that same conviction you used to get your fix, to now stay clean. One day at a time.

One of the things that motivated me through the early stages of recovery was reading about how exercise can help with getting you back to homeostasis. I made exercise the corner stone of my recovery (along with good nutrition) and I can honestly say that I'm 99% back to my old self again after a decade of prescription opioid abuse-nearly one year clean now.
@MissStudMuffin247
@MissStudMuffin247 6 лет назад
Hi Just curious, how long did it take you to feel somewhat good again? Like you its been about a decade and I feel that I will never feel good again. About to jump off the smallest amount of suboxone, right now just the smallest amount helps with energy, fatigue, and depression but i'm not depressed, I have nothing to be depressed about. I should be depressed that i'm on this shit still lol. So this is what is holding me back. Cant wait to feel 99%! Exercise is on the schedule, i have specific class's so no skipping out on them... gotta do it! not sure when
@MrBollockchops1
@MrBollockchops1 6 лет назад
Hi, it took probably about four months for me to get back to normal. Everyone is different but exercise can definitely really speed the process up. You are stimulating the Endorphins, Serotonin, Dopamine and Norepinephrine levels. The first week was especially hard for me but I'd motivated myself in the build up by reading how good exercise is for Opioid W/D. Supplementing with Amino acids like 5-HTP, GABA and DLPA will also work a treat too. I am now almost 12 months of everything with no cravings, depression or anxiety. You could say exercise is my new addiction, but it's a healthy one that will help you no end. Best of luck to you.

MrBollockchops1 thank you so much, i so much appreciate all of the information you provided, first time i have asked anyone and like i haven't heard this a million times watching all ryans vodeos regarding exercise maybe now that I'm really so over it that maybe it will stick this time. My dr. Prescribed me adderall as a stimulant low dose for just 1 month bc we all know not to trade one for the other. I'm down to .5 so maybe I'll give a couple more days. Luckily I'm so busy at work time will fly by. 4 months sounds not to horrible and like you said everyone is different. Thanks again!!

how old are you,im 62 and been on them 6 per day 10mg .and feel bad I stopped taking them ,Because I ran out early by 3 days and felt blah no motivation and no appitete.was not real bad but I get them every month no worries. just sick of them.
@MrBollockchops1

Hope I was some help. It took quite a few times of relapsing and getting back on that Opioid train again. This is the longest clean time I have had in 10 years. It get's easier as time goes on. I guess it's about filling that void that the Opioids leave, for me working out did that. Best of luck to you.

Im finally 1 year clean. What a ride. i tried to tapper down didnt work tried to go cold turkey didnt work. Finally took a huge leap and just moved to a another town where i knew nobody and went cold turkey it was quit bad in the start but after like 2 month i felt alright not super but fine enough. But here in the summer time im starting to get leg pains again. I had to go to a special kind of psychiatrist that had to do with drug abuse. After like 3-4 months they told me i had to try and take Ritalin because i was going totally mad. that part with ritalin kinda sucks beacuse i dont feel clean.

Rip I know this is an old video but man it's so true. I constantly use things to come off things and keep the cycle going and going.. it's endless. He's right gotta go thru it as I do but I tend to buffer with other substance and it's a risky way of trying to get "sober" I do these tapers with DOC and switch to other things to aid.. All it is is getting to the point where you fight the right of passage completely sober CT when your tapered and ready or not, just get it done champ it like a boss Life is hard but im Harder! that mentality. Great point. No more prolonging for me. 24hrs is all we need day by day.. and continue. 🙏

Hi Catherine, i just wanted to give you a little encouragement as i have been dealing with this damn suboxone used to get off norco after a surgery i had no idea my life would change now 10 years and you can do this, i have tappered to the lowest dose possibly and now scared to make that jump and just know I'm going to feel not so great for a bit. But like you i did this before by stopping and remember how great it was to be free of all. Then relapse. This time i have confided in my daughter and 2 friends i feel like that has 100% helped you need someone to talk to. Good luck! You can do it!!!! Tapper, tapper tapped.

Tahir Khan any step you take to give yourself a better and more promising life is a great thing , some people can taper some can't but I personally think it's better if you want to really change because it's gets your body use to going without the meds and let's it adjust just keep up the good work man and sooner then later you'll be down to 10mg once a day then to none at all congratulations on taking that step to bettering your life though and hang in there
