They're right that it's not the kid's fault. but it IS the parents' fault. If your kid is severely disruptive and a significant physical threat to everyone, it's your goddamn fault for insisting on taking him out to public places after you've repeatedly proven unable to control him. I cannot fucking stand parents like this. They want so badly for their child to be normal that they delude themselves into thinking everything is fine and them out in public like normal people. Then when the public reacts to him PISSING AND BITING people, they think it's the public's fault for being so cruel and not understanding. How the fuck someone can refuse to acknowledge the disruptive danger their child is while accusing others of not being understanding is astonishing. This reminds me why I hated Forest Gump so much. His mother was the exact same way.
+dorpth At least Forest Gump wasn't a *physically enormous* 13-year old with a violent streak in him. Even Gump's time in the Army he was remarkably kind and non-violent. According to this story, this guy *struck* a little kid, pissed and spit everywhere (which is a huge insult to many people, I was raised being told spitting on someone is the worst possible insult) and was just generally disruptive. You're right though, the parents are the real problem- if they're aware that the kid is like this and it can't be remedied, it's their responsibility to protect the public from their child.

B DeWit I agree with you! It's a sad situation but it's the parents fault for not trying to control the behavior starting from when the child was young. These parents don't seem to try, they just say "he/she's special" and expect the rest of us to put up with it.

Plus the fact they are Christian and the Bible does say "spare the Rod" Now I'm not saying thrash a retarded child, but if he bites another person, hits a child, and/or knocks down an elderly person then I see no reason his dad should not have caused a little (or a lot) discomfort to the seat of his pants. Not all retarded kids act like this either. I know some parents who crack down on their special needs kids (Downs) and they behave better than normal kids. I'm not saying they too don't have off days, they do have bad days but so do normal kids. They don't however get so out of line that people are in fear of them. You are correct, we all should not have to put up with this crap. These parents are not hard on these kids to behave and the parents allow this bad behavior to continue. My best advise to you is if a person like this strikes you, just sue the family. If you strike back then the mom will be on TV saying "oh my poor retarded child blah blah blah". Then the tide will turn against you because the person who did it is retarded. So just make sure you have lots of witnesses and/or it was caught on camera and file a lawsuit. Then and only then will parents control their unruly kids, or maybe the state will step in and put him/her in an institution. .

It was years ago but then pain effected us for a long time In Short We had attended for about 3 years and were plugged in small groups home groups and service raising our new baby in Church. Well we felt through lots of prayer that the Lord was calling us to move to Ireland and become missionaries So we asked the church if they were interested in offering prayer for us and if they felt led to donate to our cause In which one of the bishops said no they were not interested.We were confused and hurt but still pressed the Lord in prayer on this decision.We had met many people in the church by then and i felt the need to ask the other members for the same prayer and if they felt like donating to our cause Came home one day and my wife was on the couch crying .When she finally was able to talk she said the church called and we re no longer welcome at the church and if we set foot on the property we would be escorted by security. What a blow and we lost faith and many other things since that day.Years later i still remember the pain we went through.
