Opie is proof that you do not need to be intelligent to attend college nor will attending college make you intelligent. Anthony's ability to comprehend and process information is what makes him more interesting and much funnier than Opie is or ever was.
Anthony is like one of those guys who made it in the software world with no degree, just raw talent, interest, and experience. Really impressive guy and on a totally different level than those around him
I thought about fire when I was a child, like 6 or 7 years old. I'd learned so far that everything in the universe was made of atoms. So....fire is made of atoms? I thought. That didn't seem right. Then I learned that fire is simply a chemical reaction happening _to_ the atoms of combustible materials, and never thought about it again. Ever.
We can add that to the list: 1) I want to see the weather records from the dinosaur era. 2) With the headless horseman, was it the horse that was headless, or the horseman? 3) I agree with profiling, but I also want everybody to be checked. 4) What's in salt water that makes it undrinkable?
The only time this kind of conversation is acceptable is when your 15 years old trying pot for the first time. Embarrassing from a guy his age on a radio show.
He actually said, "I was a math whiz. While other kids were studying multiplication, I was studying...whatever comes next." The math genius who studied the intricate field of "Whatever comes after multiplication".
I will be fair to Opie, I've studied quite a lot of physics and chemistry on the way to med school and there's a lot of elementary stuff that I've just forgotten because time passes and I never used it. I'm sure it's far worse for someone who majored in communication. And the properties of matter he's talking about are pretty interesting, which is why people studied it and figured it out. He just needs to read a fucking book. It's kinda fascinating how he's asking all the right questions without being interested in doing any of the work to find out about it.
@@AdmiralZhao007 The apostrophe has a dual use: to show possession and to replace letters for contraction. In this case, "Opie's" means "Opie is", not that he owns something called a 'not a smart man'. A lot of people suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect will regularly attempt to mock others for using apostrophes in this way, not realizing that it is in fact quite correct and making a fool of themselves in the process.
+TheSeriouslyCasual think about it though...you put salt on food to make it taste better and you can drink a glass of water while your eating your salted meal..but if you put the salt in the water it kills ya?! HOW DOES THAT WORK?!?!
+Carl Brovloski - Because the amount of salt in seawater is significantly larger than the amount of salt in our food or that we put on our food. It's way too much salt than the body can absorb, so the body gets rid of it through urine. But the amount of salt in seawater means your body has to expel more water than you drank, so you dehydrate.
E101ification All you gotta do is get ocean water in your mouth by accident to know how bad it is for you. It's fuckin disgustingly strong with salt. It is kinda crazy how much it effects the an entire ocean.
Eh, people 'trying to figure water out' is far more prevelant than you think. I met quite a few people who were doing the very same thing in a group home while visiting my cousin.
this is why people like opie piss me off, everyone is holding a miniature computer in their hands at all times. everyone has the technology to learn about the chemistry of water but opie wants to just sit and be dumb
THIS boils down to, in a greggshell, what is wrong with him. Dopie has ALWAYS been out of his element when talking about science, or most things, but I'm still shocked to hear THIS clip. I didn't hear this segment of the show back then. Sirius/XM still employs Dopie, but not for long.
Thank you for a new post. Are you essentially "out" of clips or just less active? Your channel is excellent especially when I get to hear Steve C scramble to defend himself in his fake radio voice. "What are you doing in myyy fucking house?!"
+killustrator Less active. Plenty of potential O&A material left to be harvested for RU-vid. I haven't uploaded anything on the channel in months due to other things in my life taking priority combined with the current existence of O&J being such a downer. Ironically, I was considering a return to uploading O&A clips a month ago when I got a copyright strike on my account from Opie/Sirius XM. It was for the Opie Throws Poker Chips audio that I uploaded a couple years ago. So, until April 29th 2016 I can't upload any videos longer than 15 minutes. So...I may upload some videos shorter than that between now and then.
+Jasonayeiter just curious, what made that audio special that they took it down and gave you a copyright strike, but ignored your other hundreds of videos? That sucks, but I figured Opie would just try and get your channel nuked entirely. Thanks for all the videos!
+Franz Ferdinand I absolutely loved today's O&J. Opie's narcissism and sociopathy finally got to Jim and there was no turning back. Jimmy would not let up as Opie sputtered out of control into delusion and paranoia. Despite the awkward "make nice" at the end, it's pretty obvious Jimmy is done with Opie. For the next 10 months his newest character, "Just for Appearances Jimmy" will be serving out his remaining sentence and that's that.
+MidgetClownPorn It was mentioned on the O&A subreddit as one of the videos that had potential to get Opie fired. Opie claims he doesn't read any of the stuff there but his actions often directly contradict it. I once believed that the reason the uploader's videos were largely left alone was because the show understood the promotional potential of the videos and appreciated the effort fans put into them. I still believe this of Jim & Ant but they weren't making the call on SXM leaving them alone or removing them. That''s Opie and it's always been Opie. Opie allows them to stay for only one reason and that's ego. It makes him feel good to know his name is on videos with lots of views and upvotes. At this point, I believe the guy never really appreciated Ant or Jim so the idea that he appreciated O&A fans has become absurd.
Those last 30 seconds reminded me of Louis CK's bit about his annoying daughter that kept asking "why?". Opie has the intelligence of a 4 year old girl.
+drz a compound. hydrogen2:oxygen1. a wave would consist of energy shaping the motions of it and a particle is ridiculously smaller than a compound. a wave of water flows because it's a liquid and liquid takes loose form.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was stoned. I shouldn't, and I'm probably wrong. But its difficult for me to process that someone, especially someone successful, could be like this
I could answer Opies childlike questions back in elementary school with information only harvested from the magic school bus. I don’t know why I sought this clip out, his stupidity makes me so angry.
In a certain sense, Opie is showing a higher level of intelligence than all of you. He understands the basic mechanics of something, but isn't afraid to ask the questions behind the answers. Opie is not programmed, and this isn't the first time the blind have ridiculed the ones who can see.
