One of the funniest things I've seen on Opie's livestream is when he got called out by a chatter for repeatedly taking fake drinks from his now empty coffee mug, usually when he didnt know what to do or was uncomfortable. He had some jerkoff response, but then later on proceeded to do it at least 2 more times, then being forced to mention it, "ohh why am I even doing this, it's empty now, I'm so outrageous". Classic Opester.

Now I remember his response to the call out. He of course had to lie and say it wasn't empty, then taking an extra long fake drink, saying "there, now it's empty" and showed the inside. Then later in show continues to take more fake drinks, catching himself. Classic Opie bizarre, completely unnecessary lying. The fake cawfee bit, chirzz! lol

If I recall correctly, it wasn't that he chose the afternoon slot. It's that he disappeared on vacation right before it was time to negotiate the new contract. He came back to news that Jim and Sam were getting the morning slot because they'd been doing the show the past couple of months anyway. He was delusional about the amount of leverage he had.

He's spent his whole life focusing on his career and getting to speak his mind on whatever inane bullshit he wanted to cover, and now it's all gone. And he's only 59 LOL. That isn't even remotely close to retirement age for the radio industry. And as Anthony pointed out, he's probably drawing from his pension & investments early and incurring nasty tax penalties just to stay afloat until he hits 65 and those funds mature. This would explain why he got rid of his Manhattan parking space for example.

I was re-listening to an old O&A interview with Quentin Tarantino and Opie contributed less than nothing. His two utterances were, "It's nice to talk about this behind-the-scenes stuff!" and "You always get such good performances out of your actors. How do you do that?" He meets up with Anthony , and with in a very short time they are doing afternoons in Boston. Then it was off to the New York and afternoons on WNEW. My point, without Anthony, the name Opie wouldn't have be known outside on Long Island. Now look back at Anthony's career, he has made Opie and Anthony house hold names across the country.

i had a different youtube account and my pic was Opie with the baby diaper mustache. i gave a "compliment" during his livestream that was actually just a subtle insult. he had my comment up for about 30 seconds before he realized what the pic was. when he found out, he called me "another hater" and took it down. not because of the comment, but because of the pic. obviously he's not happy that he put baby $hit on his face. i always wonder how his wife and wife's family thought about that. i had a good laugh.

As someone who used to listen to O and A at least once a day for years, going back to 04 or whenever they got onto XM, I hate that I couldn't get into Jim and Sam but I'm glad they seem to be doing good enough to keep it going for years and years at this point.

I wish there was a way to display the screen for us so we can read the comments. That’s where a lot of the jokes are but we can’t see them and it’s not as funny if someone just reads a couple of them. 😕
