People who wants to work in offshore needs this training as mandatory. Many Institutions are offering the offshore safety training. But only OPITO approved training is valid in the interviews and has more chances for entry into offshore.

Fun training indeed and very informative. I did my OPITO T-BOSIET in Venture Gulf Training Centre in Qatar. They have very friendly staff , professional and cautious on the safety of the delegate. Helicopter part is darn scary, good thing one of the staff ease my anxiety. Thanks!

Just completed my training last week, and now my whole body is aching. We did the Huet ditch (upside down) first without the emergency breathing device(EBD), then again the second time round with the EDB.
TBOSIET (5501)- OPITO APPROVED, 4 years validity. Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUEt) wet exercise and helicopter capsizing so scared but amazing as well.
This looks awesome I wish I would be given an offshore opportunity but most people know women are rarely hired in the oil industry. Would be my dream job!
Heather Amanda heather. Right now is the best time ever to try. Oil is on the way up, companies are hiring, many that got paid off in the down turn are not going back and in the North Sea are in a bit of a panic
Unless you know a manager offshore you won't get a job, simple as that, the teachers at the training centres will tell you that the first day you turn up. Trust,
I believe oil and gas industry is very open now. The fact that you are a woman is not a show-stopper indeed. You just need the courage, availability to travel, resilience to the conditions and offshore rotations,... The oil and gas industry is in great need now for offshore people in many many departments.
Don't do the course unless you know a manager or an employment agent directly. You will NOT get a job offshore otherwise, don't waste your money if you dad, uncle, brother is not a manager offshore
I agree .. the way these people asks for offshore experience , is like they all were born in the ocean or in an offshore rig. They dont believe in “ There is always a first chance “

trying to get out on the rigs have sea going Military experience when i apply for jobs should i only do so for rigs in the US were i am citizen or should i apply for every job were English is spoken ??
You should only apply where you are legally authorized to work. For example if you don't have a valid passport that narrows it down to where you can apply.
Try to get set up with a company stateside ... Get into the likes of Halliburton even at a any level ... maybe as a supply boat crew member, or truck driver then from the inside you can move up and see what's available...the like ex military types.. so this could be your way in...
I have a question that I would like to ask. What job position on an offshore platform oversees the Rec and Fitness Areas? I can't see to find the information from any of the sites. Thanks in advance for anyone that might be able to help me.

You can't do it with goggles, as that would be nothing like the real thing. You can do it with contact lenses no problem though - I did several courses and refreshers for the North Sea when they were much more strenuous and realistic (particularly the fire-fighting) than those shown in the video while wearing contact lenses.
so what is the difference between non opito offshore survival training and opito offshore survival training.Both consists of the fucking same modules. just not the same price. is this a money making scheme?
the best results that I have had was with the Micaden Survive System (i found it on google) definately the most useful survival that I have ever tried.
Just remember the real scenario is smell of fuel and toxins , blindness in dark and smoke and heat , orientation and familiarization of equipment, than follow instructions of command . orientation ! and even partial pressures , besides assistance to your fellow man , and emotional losses ! it's your mindset ? can you handle this ?
Or instead of offshore you can inspire to be an emergency responder for offshore. Or you can be an integral member to safety standards and even be an instructor like in the video. Go to college kid, work hard, maybe you'll be the one in the future who came up with new designs in safety saving lives!
