The only bad thing about night vision is it can be addicting. I bought one of these......then two weeks later I bought another one.....then a month later I bought another one. I don't even have three eyes lol. I also bought the Night Vision Depot bridge mount, and it's awesome.
Thermals are great supplement to a PVS14, but they cant replace them. Even when hunting, it's nice to be able to see details that thermals can't provide.
No doubt though i was referencing TNVCs PVS14s. As far as setup concerns if anyone's budget can sustain it, i would think everyone would want a Gen 3 NV monocular and Thermal Clip on for the weapon they're using, at least hunting.
FYI itt now Harris tubes thinfilmed pinnacle are a little brighter than l3 only bc the l3 film is a little thicker so I can handle a little more recoil than Harris tubes of same type. The original itt PS 14 was intended to be used as a head mounted monocular with ir Aimer. Though it can be mounted up to rifles in 5.56 only. I have put a Harris pinnacle autogated thin-film next to a l3 equivalent and only under the darkest conditions the Harris has a little more detail it's so small that you need to have the units side by side for comparison.
+Frigid_ 89 mainly auto shut off when flipped up. There might be a slight difference with the intensifier tube but without my issued model side by side it's hard to tell.
comparable in size or weight, possible cost, battery life. Maybe not so much, comparable but Pro's and Con's of a option if one went the thermal route. I can look up all the sats myself but I would like to get a opinion from someone who has the ability to go hands on with the product.
***** well, thermal will not be so great for navigation, but will be great for finding various forms of kebab for removal when stationary.I really like the fusion systems like AN/PSQ20, which have night vision with red spots highlighting relatively hit areas within the FOV.
there is a version for about 1,900 bucks but night vision is not affordable on top of that, then there is the mounts ir lasers and lights before you know it youve spent ten grand
