Unboxing the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G, with an early review of the camera performance, gaming with Genshin Impact, battery life and more. This full tour of the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G also shows off those AI smarts - and this phone hits the UK for £499 in June.
The global version of this mid-range Android smartphone sadly scales down the power, with a lesser Dimensity chipset running the show. I did see some judders and shakes here and there, especially when playing games like Genshin Impact on higher graphics. Still, you can get gaming on the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G if you drop the settings.
Battery life is an absolute highlight, while ColorOS serves up quite a few good AI features. Website summary, photo editing, etc - all familiar, but well implemented. And the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G's camera is on the whole dependable too. Occasionally it's foiled by bright light or movement, but otherwise good stuff.

Just got the Reno 12 pro. For any normal phone user this phone is exceptional. Ignore the comments about the "chip set" it works brilliantly. And the battery life is absolutely insane. Highly recommend this phone!

I’ve had a company phone for the last 20 years the latest being iPhone 11 well me and my team just got the old redundancy chucked in our chops so I had to get a phone all of my own finally went for this one so looked for reviews this was the first and only one I needed to satisfy my choice. Gorgeous looking phone. A 6.1 incher would have been a banger. Autofocus in Selfie shooter is a great plus. Ois would have been icing on cake. Only downside is that 50mp zoom sensor wasted for just 2x zoom. 3.5x zoom would have been right

Wow the Reno 12 is out and I'm still rocking the original Reno (10X Zoom). Disappointed that there is still a front facing camera; I've been waiting out for a phone with an under the display camera as I've been spoiled by the Reno 10X Zoom's pop up camera. Great review as always!

@@kpehe100 My phone takes excellent selfies with a pop up camera; I don't like the punch holes or "pills" interrupting pretty much all modern screens. Thankfully my phone was the fastest on the market when I bought it, it's still capable today so there's no hurry to update 😃

I’m ready for the OnePlus 13 to come out. It’s gonna be a BEAST! Snapdragon 8 gen4 processor, 6000 mah battery with 100 watt charging with improved cameras for photos & video. The best part is that it’ll be considerably cheaper than the Samsung Ultra & the IPHONE ProMax.😅

They knocked off $99.99 from the price, then dropped an additional $99.99 for trade in of any device in any condition. Which made it $699.99. This is in America, I know prices are different in other countries. If they do the same thing for the 13, you can expect a somewhat similar price.

Like everything Oppo and oneplus, it's a very nice design. They did a nice job of making the bezels nearly disappear. Although, I do prefer a curved display over a flat screen.

Hi Chris, great job as usual, love your work! Wanna ask you, will there be a (Final) thoughts/review from you on the Honor 200 Pro? I will get it on the first week of July, can't wait to get my hands on it, i really glad i preordered it with gifts, it feels a very good deal, and the phone seems very top-notch in all apsects ( Extra Honor Pad 8 and the 100W charger, which should be included in the box for everyone, but yeah companies still exclude them most of the time.) @@HyperXcube Hello! 🙂 Will see about that, when i'll have mine, i'll test it thoroughly, 99% of the reviewers ( both foreigners and whom i trust in Hungary too, who all do great reviews, and are not bunglers/con artists) said the cameras are very good on the Honor 200 pro (in the evening too), so i don't worry about it, the ultrawide is weaker, but, that's really the case in most of the phones. It's an upper midrange phone, so it'll do for me in everyday usage, even flagship phones don't always excel in all their cameras performance, so i don't care that much, hence the price difference according to those. Cheers!

I reckon it must be hard to review mid rangers - almost harder than flagships. While the likes of Apples iPhones are hardly distinguishable (if at all) these days - and the Samsungs also regress to offer progress only in a miniscule scale. Midrangers used to be a bit more daring .. (the Galaxy A80 with its swivel camera, the many pop-up, slide up or turn around cameras, the popping colours and overall design like the Essential phone, the HTC U Ultra with sapphire screen etc. ) - but these days, the mid rangers look interchangable and overall ... quite boring, too.

I know what you mean. I tested a lot of phone's the last week's and I didn't like the most of it's photos because of horrible AI retouch. Sometimes it looks absolutely not natural, sometimes colors are wrong, sometimes the brightness is totally wrong. My old oppo phone didn't have this problems. Just (still) good pictures.

One thing I've never understood. These are mobile phones and you've never (to my knowledge) actually tested a phone to see what it's call quality, volume comfort etc is? Is this something you could do?
