+rich b You should mean how painful it's been for all of us here in Venezuela to put up with this horrible government. Now we are getting through the worst economic situation in our history and it hasn't been that long since we were having the most prosperous moment ever when the price of oil were over 100$/barrel. How is it possible that we've got anything from all that money that this corrupt government got in 15 years of oil exportation??

Leonardo Farnataro The OIL SQUEEZE is from YOUR BEST FRIENDS in the NORTH USA to CRASH YOUR SOCIALIST GOV and RUSSIA? The FUTURE is WORSE as YOUR COUNTRY will be LOOTED by CRIMINAL ELITE with MURDOCH SPITTING GEORGE ORWELL DISINFORMATION as the ELITE ROB the COUNTRY and 'mysterious', the PRICE of OIL will SHOOT UP as SAUDI can't PUMP half price oil for much longer but with VENEZUELA'S OIL...Wey Hey! It'll be BILDERBERG PARTY TIME on WALL STREET...Ring a Ding...but a DISASTER for VENEZUALANS...It is so WORRYING what you have done to yourselves. Look at UK, how it has been LOOTED and CIVIL LIBERTIES, even for SCHOOL CHILDREN have been CHILLED and ERODED...UK school children can now be ARRESTED for even TALKING about BOYCOTTING M&S for SUPPORTING ISRAEL...and people are working for 50% less than 5 years ago...This is COMING to VENEZUELA and the ELITE are CLAPPING their HANDS...: ( Sorry for the CAPITAL LETTERS! ; ) K

+STAXONDECK1 No, it isn't. If you look on TeleSUR English you will find a case where Heinz-Kraft factories in Venezuela have been stockpiling 2500 Tons of wheat and letting it rot and running the factories slow to undermine the gov. manufacturing food shortages and high prices in the shops. The deliberate crashing of oil prices too to weaken Russia and South American Gov.s is part of this corruption too. Corporate Greed and Zionists are in this new bunch of vultures to loot Venezuela for the Elite and Banksters...but the population have voted for it? Sad and daft public... : ( K

The problem has always been that the Socialist government has never opposed the power of the Capitalist class or system. In order to defend working class power it is necessary to establish the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. To allow the financial power of the USA and the home bourgeoisie to continue their organisation against Socialism the counter revolution was always on the cards.

RU-vid is not allowing me to respond to certain people (I suspect some people blocked the ability to respond to them on purpose). There is one right-wing U.S. "libertarian" user here named Marshal Ironsides. He was making very typical comments worshiping markets that internet "libertarians" tend to make, and then I pointed out to him that all first world countries violated free market principles and developed as a result. Then he threw to me the example of Singapore, claiming it was a real free market success, and that I could not respond to that (this is where I suspect he blocked my ability to respond to him so he changed his settings). Well, I can respond to his typical right wing internet "libertarian" talking point. Singapore developed because they (like every other rich country on earth) did not have a free market economy like the internet "libertarians" claim. All the land in Singapore is owned by the government. 85% of housing in Singapore is supplied by the government's own housing corporation. 22% of Singapore's GDP is produced by state owned enterprises (mind you all, the world average in that respect is only 9%). Healthcare there is mostly public, and assured by the government for all it's citizens (not free market). So when you hear market worshipers online, please keep in mind that most of the stuff they spit out is only their religion.

Have you looked at Hong Kong, where it's usually one of the most free country, or area, that is super presperous!
@snapenightmare7030

the thing is that the more free and less government there is, there is usually way more prosperity than if you go down the other rabbit whole, with bigger government and big brother control.

Snape WorstNightmare Wrong. Hong Kong's economy grew via harsh labor conditions, efficient quasi-fascist political systems, and high levels of protectionism and planning by financial-industrial conglomerates in a state-coordinated economy. Alice Amsden's book "Asia's Next Giant (Oxford, 1989)" reviewed this. Also see Amsden's "East Asia's Challenge -- to Standard Economics," American Prospect, Summer 1990. Hong Kong has been well studied, and it's no where near a free market (which is why it was able to develop first world economic standards).

bootleg42 well, I haven't studies Hong Kong in that much detail. Perhaps you are right on certain details, but the fact remain that Hong Kong's market is certainly freer than China's was. You can tell directly by how much richer Hong Kong was compared to China specially right before China embarked on market liberalisation. When the British took over Hong Kong, it was essentially a backward fishing village- Same thing happened in Shenzhen, yet when they embarked unto market liberalisation, and free entreprize captialism, they grew into huge financial centres.
