This is bringing tears to my eyes. Just yesterday I was asking myself if I would be able to give my kids a gift this year. My children are asking me whether we are poor. Listening to your story it reminds me when one of my favourite niece who's the only girl of my sister. Few years ago and it was on Eid festival she noticed other nieces wearing the best clothes on the 1st day with lots of sadness in her eyes and I told myself from now on she will never feel that way ever again. I always think of the story about when Oprah was told as a child, there would be no Xmas gifts, and along came the nuns with a doll for her. . Every year at Xmas. It is an inspiring story that has made me think of many children with no gifts, and they've received gifts for Xmas from me. . the best gift is, that today, after so many years all these children have children of their own. . and it has become an annual event during the Xmas holidays, we still see each other. I love it, and they have become beautiful, caring, successful people who give me the greatest gift at Christmas, and remember me. Giving and serving is the most empowering feeling.This evening as I was walking to get my life , a young polish man passed me, he was asking for money, I was at the cash machine and obviously felt unsafe, and reacted negative, to his reaction . I felt really bad about my reaction to him. I call him and ask him if he was hungry , he said yes. It was a pleasure buying his meal I felt so good inside my heart that I was able to offer him some assistance. I was carrying food so why could he not have food. Lord, I thank you for the gift of kindness and love for other human beings. Oprah, you are truly amazing and thank you for my learning.
