Everytime I came home from school my mom would always be watching the show and I would sit down and would watch it with her. When Oprah send off her goodbye, we stood up and applaud with tears in our eyes and hugged. There will never be a show like Oprah 👩👧💕👏
Society uses the word friends way too loosely. Just because they know each other and have taken pictures together doesn’t make them “friends. “She and Harvey were never “friends.” Gayle is her friend. Do you get it now?
I remember watching it. My mother and I were at a nail salon, it was noisy, chatty. But when she walked on to speak this monologue not a pin could be herd. It was absolutely silent and everyone was focused.
This was so phenomenal! Thank you Ms. Winfrey for recognizing the work of the 'Legends'. I was so very deeply moved by this series. It is a reminder to show love to those living around you who make a difference in your life.
:( Such an idol and icon. I still miss her show. It used to come on at 4pm every day as soon as we got home from school. Associated with happy memories. We were so used to her being on every weekday.
I wish I could personally thank Ms. Oprah. She has opened my heart and mind after watching this. Thank you so much for just having a heart of appreciation for women especially black. I am somebody and have greatness within me!!! It took 37 years and watching this for me to see it. Once again thank you Ms. Oprah Winfrey!
2022 and I still think her show was awesome. It wasn't just for women. I thought that a lot growing up but whenever I caught it on TV, it really was largely a good time and many times very educational, in a world where home internet was still in its infancy. Oprah had her missteps and even maybe had been misguided at times but I still thank her and that show for opening people's eyes and starting conversations that needed to be had.
I can't believe the show is gone :'( She has changed a lot more than people think. Oprah wasn't a talk show, it was Oprah. Everything she was about, the people, the opinions, the love and the light that she brought into people's homes. The tides of change brought to people's hearts. Oprah, you will be missed and I hope you have the best of the long days ahead of you. Thank you.
I remember seeing the finale episode whilst coming home from school one day and just being shocked that it was ending this early. (I was an elementary school child at the time and thought that operah was a new show)
This is completely amazing and awesome! Thank you Oprah for this legends weekend. I feel as if I were right there with you all. Thank you and they deserve diamonds. I believe friendships were renewed and mended. This was altogether lovely and beautiful! Thanks, thanks, thanks
I can't believe 52 weeks ago today, at this very time, this aired.........I know the date is May 25th, but it was today-on a Wednesday that this show aired. I just happen to come across this right now too........Miss you Oprah. I love Own, but I truly, truly miss the Oprah Show......
I don't get why so many people hate/hated Oprah. It could be the fact that she is a woman of color. It could be her success in a man's world. But, with regarding to what she did and what she showed us through this show was a great example of what positive things television can do and what people can do when they allow themselves to be the best of themselves, and to show it in their lives. To accept, understand, forgive, enjoy, and love. What is wrong with those values?
This is a master class for anyone retiring from a long career: go out on top, go out with dignity, and go out with class. Too many people stay in careers longer than they should, and often don't get to enjoy their twilight years and everything they worked for. Then there are those who die not long after retiring, because they didn't plan for a life beyond work, or they have no identity outside of their title/occupation. Oprah accomplished everything she needed to in those 25 years. She came at the dawning of the golden age of talk show hosts, and made her mark. It was time for her to enjoy the fruits of her labor, rest on her laurels, and pass the baton by acquiring a network for quality television shows. Now a new generation of television viewers can enjoy programming for a modern world. She accomplished far more than most in her prime, and what an honor it was to watch her build bridges, and connect with everyday people: that's a gift that not everyone has, but Aquarius is the humanitarian of the zodiac. What a beautiful difference one single life made.
I watched her box set and it's remarkable! All the love, tears, lessons and memories that makes me realize how lucky I am to be in a world at the same time she is. I have never laughed and cried and learned and gotten so much joy from a television show. She taught many of us how to be empowered as women. She showed us we all have something to give. She was a blessing to many of us over the years. We were lucky to have her. Thank you Oprah. For everything ❤️
my mom was watching the oprah show when i was born. i know because the joke was my dad had to flip between oprah and the peoples court since they were on at the same time
Oprah has donated and continues to donate millions of dollars to international causes. But she alone is not responsible for this world. Everyone has to do their part. So I find nothing wrong with it.
I miss Oprah doing the talk show. 25 years she did. She did AM Chicago 1984-1985, People are talking 1978-1983. I wanted her to do the show more than 25 years.
Simple Truths; Enjoy building bridges not breaking walls- B Simple Truths: The truth will always belong to those who seek it.... Simple Truths: To change how people do things change the way they think- B
Oprah gave me stage fright. I went to a taping of A.M. Chicago in Waikiki, in my prime years, high school years, and because I am local, she picked on me by making my face on camera thirty minutes. No! I don't want to be on camera again -- I have a fractured image.
Opra was terrible for families when she first came on the air, calling all men Dogs, that crap ruined so many families, men always knew when their wife had been watching Opra, because when they got home from work, their Wife, who had always been kind and loving would start an argument with him out of thin air. Opra was drooling after she saw Tyra Banks Breast, on one of her episodes, you can find it, its out her somewhere, she didn't get married, because she is Gay.
