A Milwaukee woman's half-sister is one of the most celebrated women today, Oprah Winfrey, and she shared her story with TODAY'S TMJ4 about how she approached the media mogul.
The best gift that Oprah's ever given her is her LOVE. That answer brought tears to my eyes and I'm watching this on my phone in public so a little embarrassing for a big man like myself to be crying in public. LOL

Oprah you are born to be someone that people can look up to. I am from philippines, the life lesson I leraned from you is something I always hold dear to my heart. I forget them from time to time so I just go back to youtube to remind myself. If I would be born again I would like to be like you. Yes that "half" strunk a nerve for me too. My two oldest siblings had two different bio dads. They were my mother's children, they were raised by her and we all lived under the same roof. My bio dad was the only dad they knew. They are my brother and sister. They are not half.
It's a fact that they are half sisters. Nothing you can do about that. But being half siblings doesn't have to mean that that it takes anything away from your relationship. It's not a negative thing in itself.

Sometimes people give kids up for adoption because they love their kids more than they love themselves. My adopted niece came from a mother who had 7 kids by 5 different men. The mother had substance abuse problems. She wanted a better lifestyle for her daughter, so she LOVINGLY gave her up.
Beautifully said...we have an adopted Aunt who has been in our family almost since birth. She reconnected with her biological family but came back to us because she felt we were more loving and supportive. So, we do all we can to support her and her kids now.

She looks very similar to Oprah and her mother. She stayed patient and did not force it to happen. They continued to make success happen in all of their lives despite not having each other together early on.
When the interviewer asked what's the most important thing she got from her sister, I was thinking about the house she's in that Oprah gave her, but she said "her love." Shane C she doesn’t want her money! Why does everyone keep saying that. If that was case she woulda sold out the story when she first found out that she be her sister. They kept it a secret for almost 4 years before finally getting thru to Oprah. She doesn’t care about the money at all
She is very honest person and I admire her so much.she could have gone out there and sold her story and not get the sister she so desire to have.but been an awesome and knowing she will have her wish if she stay true to her own. Nice to read or rather see a video that is sweet and uplifting. I was a big fan of Oprah way back when she was on nearby Baltimore local tv. I liked Oprah from the get-go. She is a decent human being and her newly found sister certainly seems to be as well ....
I went to school with Patricia. She was always a quiet young lady always was dressed nice and look nice. She never was in trouble or anything. She was a nice girl. Nice to see every day at school.
My -half sister- sister is 20 years older than me, & sadly I've never met her. I know her name, her husband's name, her kids' names, what state she lives in, and that we have the same dad. I hope that when I'm older I can fly myself out to her & meet her someday.
