Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO) offers a viable solution to address low power consumption and high bandwidth demands of data centers. LPO simplifies design with a pluggable module interface, facilitating easy plugging and unplugging of transceivers. This design enhances optical interconnection flexibility, simplifies fiber cabling, and streamlines equipment maintenance, allowing for efficient system management and upgrades. Furthermore, LPO technology eliminates expensive DSPs from the module, reducing the bill-of-materials in a given module.
