I have the Para 3 in Maxamet and I personally love the gray. I bought the sand washed deep carry Lynch clip for it and it looks really good. It’s now my favorite knife for edc.
Finally found one I'd pay for. Full price 105! Is ebay, should arrive today, the seller answered my questions so it should be real and all good. If not, I have ebays buyer protection, might take a bit if a issue but will get my money back if a problem. Also the non pinned version!
Good video. I had the brilliant idea that I would buy this knife and then swap the scales. Didn't realize before that this knife was sealed. So obviously not an option. And I agree I would have expected more exciting scales.
From a purely structural point of view, i am not sure that is a good idea The lock test that Bladehq did on a bunch of knives showed how the bolts holding the locking block in the frame on a G-10 manix sheared right off under 200 pounds
Strangely enough I love the feel of spyderco frn over some of the more premium materials . I just wish my Manix in s110v was smoother to open and close :(
Cedric, it's FRCP handles, get a look between the Endura and the Manix, the material is different. I agree on color, the grey is sorta bla. I have the S110V version and I like the Blurple, it makes the knife stand out a little, even though, like you said, it's a humble work knife.
The Steel is very impressive, personally I'd pick the Native 5 with Maxamet, the size and proportions (and cost) being more to my liking, great review.
Para 2 will be coming out at $250 - $300 AUD by the look of it, and guess what colour zzz. So add another $100 for some decent coloured scales I suppose. How hard is it to give us some colour options like the Delica and Endura?
I have a PM2 in Blurple and I hate the color, don't care for the British Racing Green on my ZDP either, but I think that grey looks great with the stone wash! Ha ha everyone is different!
My manix 2 is much much smoother than this. It's the s30v one with g10 and full steel liners, the lock has slightly more resistance than my 940 but it is WAY smoother than the 940. Smoother than any knife I've ever handled.
Actually strange enough spyderco almost never do bright colours except the yellow colour... I have seen some interesting colours on endora but that is it....
Hey Pete have you had any problems sharpening the manix with maxamet? People say that it chips like crazy, and even up to like half inch chips at times.
I would never leave that knife anywhere if I paid 200$ for it lol the knife looks really cool to me it looks like a military knife g10 would be awesome in maxamet
I tried taking out the blade on my s90v manix in orange frcp and it seems to be fixed in place. I got mine dirty and was just looking to clean it. But in order for a blade swap I imagine one would have to practically destroy the handles and even then would it work? Idk.
Why does a high end company like Spyderco build knives that consumers can't take apart? Such BS......would have liked one of these if you could disassemble it....
I will say this, the handle is too square for any kind of heavy work Not that i would choose any Spyderco for heavy duty, seeing how i broke two Enduras
No benchmade knife quality? Bro benchmade is not only price gouging their customers they using 10 year old materials. It’s like when you were in high schools and thought your dad could beat up any man and then you come across a UFC fighter and figure out what’s going on.
