thank you friend! actually, this is the deck I used against Hawkins on Monday! But yeah, this game has a few more nuances than Digimon so I though the don curve and Counter number were good stats to keep track of! But yeah, hope to do more deck profiles like this now that a ton of cards have been revealed!

thank you asyraf! yeah, based on the purple’s that have been revealed so far, Animal Kingdom Pirates seems to be the best crew to use in the color, and there are some awesome ones in there! Definitely going to do a OP01 Kaido deck in the future!
Great video. I love deep analysis and graphs! - Regarding playing Ginrummy to the field: I think the community is over valuing 3k power currently. Until we get a 4K leader it’s not worth attaching 2 when you can play cards that only require 1 or none. Now using ginrummy as purely counter fodder I agree with that. - Also Ulti at 4 just for the counter cost, her effect is just a distraction. - I think the cost bell curve should be at 4. Good 3-cost characters are at 4K or 5k. Great 4-cost characters are at 4-6k. - All-Star is also a dud. You already have a continual ramp in your Stage and Jack for extra consistency who is also board presence.
thank you so much, glad you liked it! I agree that there might be an overvaluing of 3k power on the field right now, but I understand it, especially if we're just looking at the starter deck meta. I think if Ginrummy hits the field, it's to crack back on weaker character that swung with don attached. But yeah, most low-cost character should be held for counters imo. I think you're right about Ulti at 4 and just not using the effect. And agreed on All-Star Calamity. When I played against Hawkins, I was surprised to see how much don I had left! But these are some great points, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the deck profile!
Do you still hold the same opinion on having only 2 "Who's Who" character cards in an optimized deck after the edit to its on play description to include the words "You may..."? With the option to enact the ability, it no longer seems to be a situational bummer when pulled from the Life deck
so, my opinion’s definitely changed now that I know that you can choose to activate Who’s Who’s ability! Easy 4 copies, lol! (past me was maybe too literal when it came to wording, but also burned by some mandated Digimon abilities that have cost him games, lol)
@The Other Decks Glad to see you're feeling better. I literally just picked up the game yesterday. Lol luckily its very similar to hearthstone, so I already have a good feel for it. I just have to learn deck building theory, so I'm looking forward to it.
actually, they are not! I was corrected in the comments. So you can play Who’s Who and not pay for/use the effect. I was going off some things in Digimon, but I was wrong in my assessment here
@@theotherdecks I looked at the rules FAQ and it seems that any on play that does not have a cost is mandatory, any effect with a cost you can choose not to pay.

@@theotherdecks apparently also any cards that have been erratad to say "up to 1" also includes 0 on that number so the effect occurs but may resolve without effect
For sure! Like I know you don’t have to pay the Don costs, but for cards like Who’s Who, I believe you still have to pay the effect cost (in that case it’s Don -1). I think it’d be a little weird if Trigger allowed cards to bypass that cost, unless there’s a ruling I missed haha
yeah, I don't quite remember my take on vanillas in this particular video, but I remember not really loving them. I think you're right and I definitely think they're an important part to balance, as they often are our counters in the game. But moving into Set 01 (so not necessarily an optimized starter deck), I think the vanillas in the decks can be replaced by other vanillas from the booster box. I think I'd mostly look for vanillas with a natural 5k attack range.
It’s a good looking game so far, and some of the art is god tier! Release in Japan next week, then release in the US in December! So might need to delay that store trip for a little bit haha
