The best part is the retract. You finish a climb and most of the time it pops right back in place. Epic!

After watching your video of the DSM kit on your SCX10iii, I rigged up a DIY version on my Ascender. I used some stretch cord from an old backpack, and and a hook from a picture hanging kit. It was very easy to do, and cost me nothing. It's not a perfect system, since the tension is dependent on how close you are able to hook up, and as shown in your video, you may need to relocate the hook several times, in order to winch up one obstacle. As with any winch system, how readily available winching points are, determines how easy your recovery will be.

Same!. I used the metal rod from the shock towers/body post mounts. I'd of liked a bit more distance apart for more strech but still works fine

That ridiculous climb.... I was like "Nope, ain't happening..." WOW, that was pretty cool! Really goes to show the capabilities of the DSM Recovery Kit. I was definitely surprised!

I ordered the 24" version off A Main cause it was the longest I found there. Well it only extends 19" from my bumper being slightly tensioned to return back. Kind of disappointed I didn't see the longer pullied version.

A neat little accessory for sure. Yesterday, despite the thumb guard I glued onto the controller of my Ready To Run Axial Capra which makes accidentally activating the DIG feature IMPOSSIBLE the DIG erroneously activated anyway AGAIN requiring me to AGAIN disconnect the battery, count to ten, then reconnect the battery so to allow further driving of my Capra. Axial includes NO instructions as to how to access the electronics and transmission so that I can pull the plug on the micro-servo and glue the DIG's activating arm from ever again engaging this wholly superfluous, unwanted, unneeded and chronically problematic GIMMICK.

I like the dig feature quite a bit. On the RTR’s it’s a very basic and primitive radio to control it. In the back is a “fuel cell” the receiver is in there. To get to the actually servo you’re going to have to take some stuff apart.

@@ExocagedRC Are you saying I can pull the plug on the DIG's servo by simply opening up the rear "fuel cell"? That alone could defeat these chronic and erroneous activations of this accursed gimmick. You built yours from a kit. I purchased a 'Ready To Run'. IMO the DIG should be reserved for kit builders as well as the RTR buyers to install on their own.

Thought about that but once I got it in the mount keeps it off the battery, along with the battery strap I think it will have to stay like this. It’s not very abrasive and probably would never be an issue on the battery though.
