Starscream is always at his best when he's more than just the Ambitious Coward. I reccomend looking into Armada if you want another example of Starscream just being more
True....we need more Starscreams that are actually honor bound warriors or at least a better bot than the OG betrayer/coward he's shown for across Transformers media
I can imagine it honestly, Starscream beaten on the ground, as Optimus asks why, what made you this way and Starscream looks up and answers, you did when you Killed my Best Freind, Ulchtar Died when you Killed Genvo and Starscream was Born Prime!
@@Afanof1 He created many bad bots, that is war, we like to think Optimus is pure, but he is a General of an army, he has as many kills as Megatron. The war went on for thousands/millions of years, both sides have tons of bodies, the war went on so long that most don't even know why they are fighting in the first place.
@@Fourtytwo4242the difference between them is Optimus kills with remorse. Megatron does not. A well written Optimus will carry the weight of every life he's taken, he shoulders the deaths of Autobots he's sent to battle and never returned, and the deaths of Deceptions he's had to take down. He has remorse over the loss of human life. And even non sentient life. Megatron should have no such compunction.
in transformers armada they made starscream a somewhat sympathetic character, where in the end he redeems himself and its a pretty sad moment bc he saw the way optimus treated the autobots and he compared it to what he went through with megatron, one of my favorite transformers series of all time
Everyone seems to forget how starscream was depicted in transformers armada and it's sequels. Started out as 'woe is me' emo decepticon, switches sides for reasons (can't remember, it's been 20 years) slowly gets to know the human characters, dies a god dammed hero in the unicron saga, gets resurrected as a unwilling puppet, dies again tragicly without gaining his freedom. Armada and energon where the best pieces of transformers media and I'm willing to die for this hill.
Actually there is another Compelling version of Starscream from Transformers Armada, where he's depicted similar to Dinobot from Beast Wars, not a sniveling coward, but an Honorable but arrogant warrior, who actually has a pretty tragic but also badass death near the end of the series
Seeing his final attack almost reach Unicron and Alexia breaking down was gut wrenching. Oh and the music during that scene is just fucking amazing. Shame the sequel didn't live up to it, but hey at least we got a Starscream strong enough to fight the Cybertronian God himself.
Randomly scrolled into this, I know nothing about transformers, but I just have to say I love the fact that Starsscream gun is just a tank with a handle.
I woulf be a pretty interesting scenery if Optimus is really responsible for it, the veracity of this coincide with Elita-1 comment on Optimus (previous issue to this) when he loss it, and the regret he display since the run start . But Starscream is a unrealible narrator, this is one of his memories, but the Starcream there was not a soldier(clearly was a architect/engineer or sciencist), his mind wasn't clear in that moment he see his creation burn iand the his friend fighting then he die for a shot. His friend was fighting but it's not clear why or who hit him, easily could have been Megatron.
Idk if its a war crime as Prime only kills those who are combatants and idk if the bots have war crimes I honestly wouldn’t be mad at Prime doing it against those who are destroying or joined megatron but that’s not his character
Yeah, and it seems that Optimus eventually grew more sympathetic due to him stopping to have a conversation with Soundwave and Elita-1 saying “you’re going back to your old self” (or something along those lines)
Star Scream is at his best when he is used a smore than just the "Coward" and "Betrayer". We get to see him be more than just his G1 counterpart which despite how many series and comics has been released only happneed a handful of times and even rarer do they stick to it without turning him back to just G1 again
Here's a fun fact. Ulctara was going to be starscreams original name till they changed it before transformers ever released. It's cool to see them reusing an old concept like this
One of the complex interpretation we’ve gotten of starscream is how he hates the war and viewed Optimus and megatron as equally at fault, that they started the war and every bot on either side is a victim due to it now. And we see this explored in IDW on how starscream works twice as hard to unite cybertron and Optimus can do dictator things and be allowed because he’s Optimus. And there’s no punchline or secret meaning behind it, starscream just leaves telling them how hypocritical it is
Man, I feel even worse for Jetfire knowing now the relationship between him and Starscream. It would break my break my heart to look into a former best friend eyes as he proceeds to shoot you in the gut as you asking for help, now I feel bad for star, damn.
lol i guess i dont know sbit about transformers😂 i knew about them as a kid but only really ever saw the michael bay movies when they started coming out, and then sometimes id see the show they made on cartoon Network around that time
I would say this might be the 2nd time they have made Starscream sympathetic.... The first time was that anime that had him become a blue autobot.... its 1:30 am at the time of comment I forgot the name.
Was this from the IDW Comics? I know it’s not Skybound Starscream that’s for sure. EDIT: I hope you guys can understand why I didn’t think the Starscream in this video who stopped his friend from killing a bug wasn’t the same one that shot Bumblebee in the face, kicked Ravage, and squished a jet pilot…
I don't know if I like this origin story of Starscream because my headcanon still comes from the Cybertron games where he's a scheming member of Cybertron's "air force". But they still made him connected to Jetfire so that works for me.
hmmm not sure if this counts cause Hasbro did say that war for/fall of cybertran was cannon sooo if you go by their chosen cannon then he was a guard for a space station.
I stinkin love starscream and I may be extremely biased but I feel like a Starscream redemption arc to where he goes form villain to anti-hero/villain would make more sense than redeming Megatron. However with the newest version, the transformers one universe, redeming Megatron would be believable. Im just biased towards ol' Screamer lol, hes amazingly evil and I feel like it makes sense for him to be a broken person instead of just always being evil.
Look up armada starscream there is a pretty good video on him approved by the voice actor and it gives you everything you would want and need to know and you will respect starscream a little more afterwards or maybe a lot more I know I do
Star scream is such a cool name and I always hated how it went to this whiny back stabbing character for most timelines but the armada star scream and this make it justified
If he has a “normal” name originally, then why didn’t d-16 have a normal name or did he just name himself Megatron, what even are names on cybertron when you can just keep changing them
Im gonna be honest i know nothing about transformers until i started readin g this run all i knew was autobots good decepticons bad Edit: Spelling mistake
