Hey Bob, Lou Gibbs here, retired in NC, Headed to the Gold Coast Fla next month to Metal Detect a little Spanish Gold, or maybe a couple of Quarters. Just found your site so I Subscribed and will look forward to watching your videos.
You reference the V3 detectors and the MXT's but I'm curious to your thought on the 13" Detech on a DFX. I know a lot of people had a hard time with it's settings but I've used one since around 2001 I believe. I've used the 10" DD but went gack to the 950 only because I was too impatient to learn it and I do (IMO) exceptionally well with it. I get good depth but mostly I can really ID targets great using the DC Phase feature. I'm obviously older now and more patient so I wouldn't mind trying the DD's again. I'm hunting colonial farm fields in the northeast that's not overrun with iron where the larger coil might be difficult. Am I better off, in your opinion, with sticking with a 10" DD or is the 13" Detech worth the investment? Also is the 5.3 a DD or is it a concentric coil. I had one years ago but I don't remember now. I do remember that it went deeper then I thought it would and really worked well but unfortunately someone stole it from me at a hunt years ago when my nephew left it in the back of the truck. I still like using the DFX although I am planning on buying the Deus II next spring. I figure I'll hunt out the rest of the year with a machine that I know well before I go through that learning curve with the Deus II. Thank you for any info you recommend
Good day dear Master. I hope you can help me. I have a GARRET MASTER HUNTER CX II. But 5 color cables coming from the motherboard but 3 cables are broken. So the cables going to the socket are disconnected. Now, this 5 colors coming out of the motherboard will be connected to which socket number. I hope I could explain. Thanks Or one picture from Garret Mainboard to coil socet.
So now I am wondering what it is about freshly buried that is blocking electromagnetic fields? Air gaps in soil? Soil Electronic Conductivity must have a lattice type effect due to air gaps and such acting the same way a shielding would. I assume.
i would guess that the metal object diffuses some of its metal into the surrounding earth mineralizing the earth/dirt/sand/etc around it making it effectively a bigger target and shallower.
Hi Bob, Great video.. I have a Whites 6000 di Pro Plus, circa 1989. I have the blue max 950 coil and was wondering if there are some larger coils made for my unit, possibly a double D. My unit is an older one but it works great. I would like a little more depth with a larger coil.. Thanks, Glenn
I have a Silver Eagle and an Eagle Spectrum as well as the 6000, all using the same coils: 3.5" sniper (BM350), 4x6 shooter, 6" small coil (5.3 bullseye or BM600), 8" coil (BM800), 950 stock coil, 15" garbage lid (BM1500). I don't have the 4x6 but i do have the rest.
Hello, I have an 8-inch closed çoil for Prizm. very disappointed coin is detected when it passes through the very center of the coil, from the stop it is not detected at all. tell me if it would solve that problem with the eclipse 950 coil? does that probe have the same problem?
You say you like larger coils for the beach, but would that be for the dry sand, the area between low and high tide lines or detecting in the actual water? I don't have my White's machine any longer. What's your general opinion for coil type and size when detecting in the water of a freshwater beach, regardless of detector brand, assuming the shallow water being searched isn't very trashy? Do you suppose I should use a very large, large or medium sized DD or a very large, large or medium sized concentric coil for that. The beach is question had heavy swimming activity 150 years ago, so I want to go deep, but since I've never detected it, I'm not sure how tightly grouped the targets will be. Sorry, I know it's a lot of questions. Thanks for any advice.
@@BigBobbyB - Thanks, I'll try that approach. I'm thinking too, it'll probably be easier in my arm if I do my water searching vertical to the shoreline, so I won't have to fight the waves and currents coming at the coil from the side.
what medium size coil is used for relics and nickel iron for say meteorites for a white's GMZ. The original coil seems to have an intermittent issuer as I am getting double beps on single targets and intermittent beeping when moving around. Thanks!
