Options trading is a very difficult thing to learn as a beginner, as there are many moving parts and many concepts to learn simultaneously. In this video, my goal is to bring you from zero to hero in a few hours, even if you don't know anything about trading options.
We are going to explore the world of options through many examples and graphical illustrations, and explanations simplified as much as possible. Check it out and let me know what you think if you want more beginner-level options trading content! I didn't wake up one day and say "I need a 2 hour, 53 minute video on my channel." But that's what happened when it was all said and done. I have made two "options for beginners" videos over the past few years, but both of them missed the mark for many (and myself when I rewatch them). While a lot of people learned from them, there were many left more confused, as I spoke really fast and used obnoxious animations, and didn't use concrete examples to enforce concepts. My goal with this video was to take all of that feedback and create a video that was truly helpful for beginners, and who are serious about sitting down to learn. I really hope all of the explanations, examples, and graphical illustrations in this video help you finally understand some of the most confusing parts of options trading. And, I hope the brokerage platform demonstration at the end showed you how actually entering/exiting trades works. We didn't cover everything in this video, but I believe this video can help build a great foundation for the rest of your learnings in the options world. If I excercise my call in the Tesla example.. so profit =(836-800)*100 = 3600 right? But I have paid approximately 8000 dollar for the contract ..so I am actually losing money ? 8000-3600= 4400???

@@kaustavchattoraj9003 Yes, exactly. You lose the extrinsic value of the option when you exercise it, which is why to realize a profit you would sell the option, not exercise it. But first, you need the option price to increase after you buy it to have a profit. @@chieffem7036 actually, it's free until he starts getting some payment for running ads on his video. Before that, it is pretty much a bet. It is not that yt always pays you or pays you in advance. You have to invest, create great content for free, and then, MAYBE, it performs well and you are able to monetize. I get your point though.

An episode i learned from personally took a hit because I made the decision to go heavy in AMC stocks with the plan to quickly cash out into legitimate projects. Plan was working perfectly until first crash a couple weeks after making purchase a Market Advisor [Grace Shukman Yung] which i employed for assistance and market advise told me to sell off what was left and moved into better projects so far I've recovered my loss with a profit over $80K so far and i hope to make more significant returns under her aggressive methods.

I’m just starting to learn about options but I have a question about a strategy I thought of. Would it make sense to sell a put option against the call option you bought so you can double your profit. If this makes sense I understand you’ll be doubling your potential losses too.

It can work, but it's going to lead to massive losses if the stock falls. With a long call only, you have capped downside (the amount paid for the call). If you short a put to finance a call purchase, you'll have a wide stock price range where you won't make/lose any money, but you'll have big downside and a MUCH larger margin requirement to put on the trade.

Buy a good cross section of an economy and you should do well over the long term. The market wil be high in 10 to 20 years, and significantly higher in 30. It's almost impossible for a company with no debt to go bankrupt. the U.S. is about 50% of the global market place, Pay yourself first. It's time in the market, not timing the market. last year I invested 100 grand in the S&P 500/ an allocation fund (with the help of my Financial Advisor Rita Lynn Evans of course) and made 370k, but guess what? I put it back and traded with her again and now I’m rounding up close to a million.

I day trade and have for a few years and am fairly consistent, My buddy does options and for the past few months has been trying to get me into doing options but i just couldn't get my head around the entire process.. The way you just explained it gave me an " aha " moment not even 30 minutes into this. You have a very simple way of explaining processes - . Its like 5 people can try and teach a guy something and it just doesn't sink in..Then you get the one guy who uses fewer words but they all come out making sense - You're that guy! Kudos to you for this Video and the way you educate

1 hour in I thought, wow I can easily buy a call. So I did. Then I lost $700 on the call. 2 Hours later, you said you spend 300 hours studying before you bought your first option. Me: Oh, guess I should have finished the video first. Live and learn. Thanks for the video, I made it to the end. It took a week of watching it off and on, but damnit I made it.

Before watching this video I had a VERY basic understanding of options trading. Calls, you want the stock price to go up. Puts, you want the price to fall is about all I knew. Although I’ve only watched half the video so far (my head started hurting lol) you’ve already answered many of my questions. You provide clear and concise explanations of the terms as well as the processes. Great examples also. This is a must watch video for anyone interested in options trading. Thank you for doing this.
