Well im a 10 year union pipefitter and have 30 plus years of welding jobs experience and the like and If IF i can not often can i but when i can i get right up in there too deep up in there where the slag is popin into my hood maybe i need this hood to give me some distance lol
@@Phoenix-One0922same... i tried lincoln 2 x 4 shade 10 auto change. I can barely see my cap on tests. Throw on my arc one hd 240 10/11 dual and i can see where i ahve undercut and the bluish tint doesnt hurt my eyes while allowing me to see more. I tried my buddies viking 3350 at work with the new lense and i hated it. It was a yellowish tint b4 i started welding and when i welded fcaw on shade 11 with it it felt like my eyeballs were burning. I run 12 or 11 on the arcone lenses. Now im looking for something similar (possibly an arc one vision helmet) as i already know i like the blue high def lenses but want more shades for tig and plasma cutting. Put an esab rebel a50 on at the store today and i hated the natural yellow tint and the price of the outer lenses. Welding companiea really need to market their stuff better especially arc one. They have probably the worst adds for their welding lenses.
This helmet only goes to shade 12, will it work for TIG welding aluminum? Miller seems to recommend Shade 13 for that application. Should I consider optrel e684 instead, which goes to 13?
sorry for my english, i have more than 30 experience in welding my dad was a self-employed welder in the family workshop . before 30 years and older ppl don’t too worry about safety in the weld to the point happen to weld without a mask using only tinted glass number 11 and without gloves at the end of the work we had the face all red , in short, that masked have a very beautiful look but the little problem is its to small to wear a Half respirator mask like miller mask or 3M 2097 filter to protect it from smoke , me If i buy welding helmet I make sure from known brand in the field of welding with a wide mount to easily accommodate my respiratory mask , thank you
Your comment is old so you probably won’t see this but I bought this hood as a professional welder who has been welding for 2 years. The clarity I can see has undoubtedly made an improvement to my welds. The ability to see around you helps tremendously, plus it’s ability to auto pick shades helps. I think beginners can also benefit from this hood,
I would get the crystal if the 2.0 lens was on the panoramaxx helmet with shade 13 and better comfortable headgear, that would be the best welding hood.
Very cool. I could tell the weldor doing the demo was impressed. My old Optrel quit after 12yrs and I replaced it with the new Esab, it's pretty nice but it's no Optrel.....
@@zorel1 they are all just different comes down to personal preference. The ESAB has the touch screen and different headgear/look so both are good just depends on what is important to you.
wow... and you were "impressed" by simply watching him weld and for not showing us thru a FILTER LENS what was being weld? well... I was "impressed" too of how you were "impressed" and how you do your spelling of "weldor" Mr. welder.... Duh?
What would you say your favorite welding helmet is? I’m looking at this one and looks like a nice one. I want something that is going to be extremely clear.
I currently have an optrel satellite, which was my dad’s way back in the day. I love the optrel hoods, and I’d really like to get one of thee crystal series hoods
I also have an Optrel Satellite. I tried a Miller Digital Elite the other day. Wow the technology has come on a long way! These modern helmets are in a different league. Optrel aren't cheap though.
Does it handle pulse well? Ive been getting back into tig and noticed I couldnt see the puddle while practicing on stainless pipes but could see with out pulse.
How does it compare to Panoramaxx? Same basic technology. Both claim a wide color spectrum. 2.0 vs 2.5 off state isn't significant. 4-13 vs 5-12 range probably not a big issue. The Panoramaxx has the pseudo-googles...does that really help? Does it work with glasses? The Crystal 2.0 is $30 more expensive...does buy something significant? How do they compare to the less expensive Lincoln 3250D FGS?
So they are both cool hoods but different. So the Crystal is by far the best in clarity and overall features. The Panoramaxx has a unique close up view. We do have a promo going on the Crystal right now I would check it out. It is $40 off and there is also a bundle where you get $114 worth of stuff for $60! (Including the FREE backpack, helmet consumables and top selling gloves.) Hopefully that helps feel free to call us if you have more questions.
Anyone know what determines the color your hood lights up as? My miller elite shows an amber color but i've never been able to figure out what makes them different colors. I am looking for a new helmet but i dont like the yellow, green or blue ones. Trying to find one that shows as red/amber.
This helmet is truly clear and the colors are truest to color that we have seen. I know what you mean with the tint of color. This is the best as far as clarity, weight, and view in our opinion, it does come with a higher price point but we think worth it!
It does not compare honestly. This helmet is the clearest thing we have used. Really hard to explain but the helmet is super light and the view is insane. It is expensive but we think it's worth the investment.
Just bought one love the color but noticed the edges are light then the center and sent it back for replacement but it has the same effect does anyone else have the same issue? Is that the way they all are or is the two I used defective?
Its because of 1/1/1/2 optical rating, because to get shade 2 light state, while the Lincoln 3350 is a 1/1/1/1 but a 4 shade light state, the last number means the angle dependency, ex while moving your eyes looking at the corner of the lens it will be lighter because it's a class 2 than a 1
It is not a set amount of time just like all helmets depends on how much you are using it. We recommend keeping it in the bag when you are not using it and that will save battery.
Hi I had this helmet and worked 2 Day only I found and it's a very brighter shades auto mode or manuals mode it is very difficult to suit my eyes site and I feel end of day get my eyes tried I never experienced last 15 year of welding work on both TIG and MIG welding. I am not happy with crystal lenses very brighter at max12 shade any mode. Head gear very harder not comfortable and very easy foigging in side shiled the lense very disturbing during wedding.
There are a ton of options for helmets from passive to this being the top of the line. Someone who really cares about seeing the weld and price is not an object this is the helmet for them. Or someone willing to invest in it because they use it so much.
The "traditional" helmet view is through a Miller Digital Infinity original technology. (Not the new Clear Light version) thanks for watching and let us know if you have any other questions!
@@averagebloke4474 Oh sorry read that as you were asking what we used at the end of the video to show the difference in the view. Between the three Andrew said the Crystal 2.0 all the way!
@@averagebloke4474 The T94 is a really great helmet as well. It has the ClearLight technology. Below is the spec sheet for it: www.bakersgas.com/media/docs/MillerSpecSheets/T94%20Series%20Helmets%20-%20SpecSheet.pdf
It is a pretty sweet helmet! We have used them all and for clarity nothing compares! It is very expensive but it really does allow you to see the weld clearly and is super light.
Marek so it really depends on what you are looking for. Clarity we would 100% recommend the Crystal 2.0! As far as viewing area the Panoramaxx has it beat. If we had to pick one we would have to say the Crystal is our favorite right now. Just super clear, comfortable, light and easy to use!
Yes it is expensive, but man its worth it! HUGE difference in clarity compared to other helmets. Very bright and clear almost feel like your watching through a camera a weld. Its pretty awesome we have tried them all and we are impressed.
no Sculpin I was replying to Baker's Gas reply to your reply about Price is a little steap though. And I think he gave you a web addressto another hood I just want to know the one he would buy. I'm having a bad time trying to weld and then I have to put up with a weld helmet that'sslipping off my head.
@@benchracing8820 I recently bought the miller digital infinity it's a great hood but only problem is for me it goes off at times when I'm welding and i need to turn it on again. I dont know why. I bought a Lincoln electric viking 3350 as well but I didn't use it yet.
@@ridebmx6784 that's exactly what I did, I found a review on the crystal 2.0 and it was a no brainer, it was only a $50 dollar diff compared to the maxx
The view of the Panaramaxx is really neat. Overall the Crystal 2.0 takes the win! Super clear, light, all the features, I would say invest in the Crystal!!! :)
Just too expensive. I don't understand why they wouldn't price it the same as the competition. They would sell like hot cakes .welders have too work hard to earn our money. Esab will probably upgrade there shade befor long I'd wait to see what they come up with
Competitive??? Are you serious? This is as competitive as it gets. When was the last time you looked into good quality hoods? Besides, what is your vision worth? Mine is priceless.
Licoln Viking 3350 has a competitive true color lens and is half the cost. What are you guys talking about? The ESAB Sentinel a50 is competitive for quality, as is the Miller Digital Infinity. This isn't the only option for a top quality Lens and those other hoods are almost half the price!
Brian Moran nothing else has a dormant shade 2. Plus, no other good has the technology involved in the lens. This is not just another hood. It's a new standard.
You never show us what the lens looks like when actually welding in any of your helmet reviews. Kind of pointless if you ask me. We want to actually see what it looks like through the welding lens, that's all that matters to me.
After less than 20 hours the headgear foam fails to stay secured to the headgear. 0ptrel sent me replacement glue dots but that only worked temporarily. I can't believe I wasted this much money on a helmet and I will not trust Baker Welding 5 minute durability testing. Junk helmet.
Does me no good just to watch you weld. You need to show us what you are seeing. Other wise all we can see is a guy welding not how the lenses are performing
Have to add that the helmet is a ripoff as you dont need uv reflective paint, and iy has no benefits better than my $120 helmet. that has all the bells and whistles, and large screen panoramic view.
