Larry Ellison is America's third richest man. His company, Oracle, makes a widely-used database that handles everything from online banking to airline reservations. Charlie Rose spoke to Ellison at his compound, near San Francisco.
Benny Hill a snowflake ?? So should I directly ask you if you watched your best friend die ? Lmfao having empathy is being a snowflake? You guys are so idiotic
The only reason Oracle bought Sun Microsystems was so they could sue Google over their use of Java. The fact is that in 2006 Sun Microsystems (creators of Java) open sourced the language and the tools they had built (SDK, compiler, etc...). There were portions not open sourced and Oracle saw an opportunity for gains through litigation. First Android phone launched in 2008. Oracle bought Sun Microsystems in 2010, for value of the IP which to an extent, they successfully claim entitlement to through litigation going all the way to a Supreme Court ruling in their favor.
Oracle was founded with a CIA database contract. Larry Ellison is not a good person and he contradicts himself constantly. "Google stole" Larry. Look into how Oracle was created with stolen IBM tech. You're going to be surprised what you learn. They all steal from each other and then play the victim.
Don’t you just love direct people? You will always know where you stand with them. I absolutely love direct people. I am too direct. However, being direct you’re often not liked by many.
Ellison was the inspiration for Dilinger in the original Tron movie. He originated the template for purchase and dismantle other tech companies that are either too small to defend themselves or recouping from economic downturns. If anyone doubts his ego maniac reptillian qualities they only need to look at his xunzi themed garden from which he waxes poetic his demands on the world.
His entire response on the NSA is pure sarcasm. Not a single statement regarding it reflects reality. In fact I think he made the democracy statement to allude to his own ridiculousness. He obviously can't speak the truth as it would be "irresponsible" in terms of stock price and government sales. He would defend murder if he thought Oracle stock would be affected.
Hello viewer. Are you waiting for the video to finish loading? Did you scroll down to read the comments while you wait? So did I. Looks like we're both having a bad day now.
Yes Xeros parc was very inventive but without the foresight and Drive of Steve Jobs, We would still not have the Mouse or User Interfaces that we have today, Xerox was unable to bring this technology to the market!
I’m not sure this interview aged well. I think apple have done well recently to claw Android users away, and have made some clever moves with Apple TV plus and Apple Music. The structure for long term success is there. They are the only company who sell tablets and watches!
Even Larry the billionaire can be wrong he was wrong about Tim Cook CEO of Apple has taken Apple to even greater heights than Steve Jobs and now a US$3trillion company
There's something suspicious about Ellison's integrity to me. To say that what Larry Page _did_ is evil, but not the Page himself is evil, is a philosophical contradiction. No doubt a rationalized political stance, but a contradiction none the less. Actions do not take place apart from the prime mover. If Page did something evil then _Page_ did something evil. The resulting actions were a product of Page's mind; Page's orchestration. The action doesn't take independent moral responsibility apart from the actor. Larry cannot possibly believe it to be otherwise, therefore he is lying, therefore I question his own integrity.
Which new innovations have you seen under Tim? Which pricing shifts have you seen under Tim? It's like Steve Ballmer when he took over from Bill Gates..
It's Charlie Rose's understanding of "investigative" journalism ... ... actually ... if Steve Jobs would have avoided all MDs and hospitals he would be still alive and fine ...
Apple Inc was utterly dependent on Steve Jobs' brand. As soon as he died the company followed . Of course it is still a behemoth but it's never gonna be the same without Steve Jobs.
"The great thing is we live in a democracy. If we don't like what the NSA is doing, we'll just get rid of the government and put in a different government." HAHAHA does this rich snob really believe that bullshit?
