Oracle Database Cloning via RMAN Restore Recover Method

A nice feature of #RMAN is the ability to duplicate, or #clone, a #database from a previous #backup. It is possible to create a #duplicate database on a #remote #server with the same file structure, a remote server will a different file structure or the local server with a different file structure.

This was very clear, so in this script, how can we get email alerts, when Rman backup has failed. If you have those email alert scripts, please share us. Thanks.. Always we were connect to the server, we have checking these backps have success or not..

Dear, could you please help me with the scenario where my database server's operating system has failed and I need to reinstall it. Also the database was in no archive log mode and has no backup. But, the previous database files are still there in the ora home directory. Can I restore the database after reinstalling oracle and using .dbf files, control files, redo log files, pfile, spfile and other files of the previous database?

You should be able to use the database. Install Oracle, setup bash profile, take db to nomount, then mount and try to open once. Most probably it will ask for recovery, try to recover with available redo logs and then open it.

Only things I'm facing this time are some error message like- ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1, ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56327], ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56327]. Though all previous data was restored. Do you have any idea on this?

Quick questions: is the target server a completely different server? or same server on which you plan to restore?

You should install at least oracle software.

Bacuse in control file restore DB name is of source else it will fail to restore .

Yes, you can clone the DB but with a different name.

We can clone the dB with out taking the backup because from 12c oracle introuced active cloning so automatically it will take the backup through online !!!

form next time onwards plz use white background unable to see codes properly had to use full brightness. And commands not visible while writing bcz of RU-vid buttons try editing video and moving it up a bit so slider wont come in middle of commands.
