Thank you very much brother, I have failed many times installing rac database in vm ware before ,After seeing your video I have successfully installed rac database by following your steps Great Video for installing Rac
Thank you sir for the lovely and detailed video ..Its great that you have already shared the docs in the shared folder without asking .. definitely you have a big heart with great knowledge
Dear sir you are amazing thank you. I have two question when you put the virtual IP,scan IP,private Ip,public IP where do we get it could be in production or VMware. is it network admin supposed to give me?the second question is when the +FRA,+DATA is it possible to resize again I said in the production environment very sensitive.
Private IP and Public IP are Physical IPs. They need to be allocated by network admin and then UNIX admin will attach it to the host. Virtual IP and SCAN IP - You can decide what to use or Network Admin can assign them for you. However, one catch is: In your environment, they should not be already in use. +FRA, +DATA - These can be re-sized when required. You can never predict what should be the size. Lets say you allocated only 10GB and data size increased, you have to increase it. In Production environment, you will add new disks to +FRA or +DATA during off-peak hours or low business hours. And you can specify rebalance power.
It is very informative video. However, I am using VMWare software instead of Oracle VirtuaI Box and am not able to use putty from my source laptop to VMware machines. I have created two network adaptors as 1. Bridged - 192.168.119.131 2. Host-only - 10.10.10.131 How can I make it work for putty. Whenever I use ping command, it message says host is not reachable. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the video. How about VIP & SCAN Address. Do we have to assign it separately. On network settings, you have added only Public & Private IP but not VIP/SCAN address.
Yes. That is correct. SCAN & VIP are virtual. They are created by Oracle Grid. When cluster is up, they are reachable. When cluster is down, they are no reachable. Public and Private IP are physical.

@@mohammedsayed1439 You are getting an error after step 14 which is InstallACFS. Did you look at /u01/app/oracle/V19BaseGrid/crsdata/vsrl7csrac01/crsconfig/rootcrs_vsrl7csrac01_2022-11-04_02-42-33AM.log? This looks like ACFS Issues. There are some solutions available on Google for workaround. Have a look at those solution. Unfortunately my support to you will be limited as I do not have access to your VM.
Downloading RHEL 7.8 is not documented/shown in the video. You can use below link. developers.redhat.com/products/rhel/download You may not get 7.8. Try 7.9 Alternatively you can use Oracle Enterprise Linux which is 100% compatible with RHEL. yum.oracle.com/oracle-linux-isos.html
I am getting an error. " Unable to verify the graphical display setup ..." While doing export DISPLAY= Kindly provide some help. How to select the display also, why can't i do it in VM?
If your display is not working, you can definitely do it in VM. I have recorded a separate video on how to do Xming Display Forwarding. You can watch it to solve your display problems.
@@DB2_Oracle I desperately need help. My host is RHEL 8.8 ; virtualbox 7.0, rhel 7.9 , I 've been on this for about 15 hours , tried all not working. I really want to get it. please advise.
@@DB2_Oracle Yes I did watch it, bit it addresses if with windows being the host. Linux 8.8 is my host. So I could not proceed on that basis. I am going to review again to see how to apply same thing from Rhel 8.8 place.
@@rockdbaseclass7558 Video is coming your way. However host is Fedora 38 Linux and guest is RHEL 9.1. Similar but not same. However Linux to linux so this video should help.
@@DB2_Oracle hi Sir, I just removed dns server details and it worked. I think it tried to connect to the dns server and resolve hostname but the dns did not had the domain. Thanks a lot sir.
There can be multiple problems. 1. Can you ping the Oracle RAC Server from your local machine 2. Can you ping the Oracle RAC SCAN from your local machine 3. Is your SCAN listener running? I suspect, either your local machine is not on the same subnet as RAC Database Server or there can be firewall blocking it.
you also use aliases in puty db2 so I think you add aliases to hosts, can you show how do you have it configured, I am asking because that is not showed in video
@@konradnowakowski1692 Check if there is a firewall blocking any ports on your windows machine and your RAC Server. Are you abe to connect to the server using putty.
Choice is yours. You can install on only 1 node and add second node to the cluster. However, in this video, I have installed on one node. Oracle internally installs it on the second node if you selected that node in the beginning.
sir from where can i download grid in video (unzip -qq oracle_DB_19cR300_Grid_LIN64_Home.ZIP -d /dbi/oracle/V19Grid) can you give me the link thank you
