This guy is the Aerospace genius and got to fly every type of aircraft I don't think anybody flew much variety and supposed to test ballast much as Bob Crippen, and he's a thoroughbred this is who you learn from

Bob Crippen probably knows the Shuttles inside and out better than any astronaut. If there's any questions one has about the Shuttle(s), this man had the answers.

When I saw the space shuttle I was excited more than ever about this is what we wanted we wanted to be able to fly large payloads into orbit and land like a plan, and there she was sitting but just eccle ready to go to space it's the most amazing aspect of it is that they built the thing without understanding how they going to fly it oh, and a lot of ways they didn't know how they were going to fly but they knew it could fly whichever where they wanted to and that's the goal that got the special program so amazing

And it was Department of Defense that wanted to have their own space shuttles which they did were able to carry out reconnaissance, satellite deployment, and satellite intelligence, if you ever look at the photographers and the crew of the Space Shuttle did taking pictures all the time of all types of things that are out there with them, reconnaissance

I think Bob Crippen he flew everything, when he got the controls of the Space Shuttle he decided to turn off the computer and he made a mistake and we have to abort too low orbit but I think he really tried to fly it by hand

I think John Young was responsible for selecting Crippen for the shuttle program, John Young had a heck of a lot of experience and I wouldn't have picked nobody unless I knew there was a cowboy if the computers went off I know Crippen could fight the wheel it Fly that ship into orbit
