I have not read Know and Tell, but I have heard great things about it! This made me want to read it more! And I loved the breakdown of how you guys are applying narration. Very insightful! Thanks for sharing!

I don’t know what your homeschool was like before using A0, but I’m curious how your kids have adjusted or if they like this a lot better compared to what you were doing. We use a variety of curriculum, but I have started pulling from the AO list to supplement…I’m scared to completely change our homeschool and go all in. 😆

We were super eclectic and I combined the older 2 for everything but math. This year is suuuper diff with each child on their own track. But we still do so much together, like:poetry, Bible, hymn, folk song, artist/composer study, nature study, and soon Shakespeare. I was worried everyone would be waiting on me to read, but that was kind of the case last year too using other curriculum because they both needed me to read say, history, and have to wait if my toddler was being hard. Now at least my oldest can read his own history! Biggest differences I’ve noticed: WAY more reading out loud on my end between 3 kids, way more books being consumed for school by my kids. They don’t like all the extra books but I think it’s good for them! LESS competition between my oldest two over who knows what so that’s been nice. We used to read our history together then a read aloud chapter book, light grammar together, and had time for random family science read alouds or random extra history biographies, writing projects, etc. there’s just no extra space now for “more” books not scheduled so I miss that. We have so many AO books that we are slowly going through. The idea is to marinade over the ideas vs quick consume one book at a time…but it sometimes feels like a lot of books at once with 3 kids. I doubt anything would be perfect, and I think my kids feel the days are longer. But I’m on the cusp of one child being mostly independent so for that I can see this being awesome long term. Best of luck figuring this out!
