Orange roughy fishery survey: mid-east coast, NZ 

NIWA researchers and crew conducted an Orange Roughy fishery survey off the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island.
The team had to contend with some rough seas but successfully completed the voyage using sophisticated acoustic equipment to assess fish stocks in the region to supply vital scientific modelling to Fisheries New Zealand.
Fisheries New Zealand contracts NIWA to complete the surveys on MPI’s behalf.
