Its completely legal to take the orange tip off or cover. The orange tip is only legally necessary if you were to sell the gun. Great video though

For rifles I’ve always dipped the orange tip in boiling water...it unscrews extremely easy after the adhesive has melted a bit, and you don’t risk damaging the orange tip or the barrel threads.

The boiling water worked for my WE G18C. Thanks for the tips. I just microwaved half a cup of water and soaked the barrel tip for 5 minutes. Then you wiggle the plastic tip back and forth. Clean and easy. Wear an oven mit, the metal gets hot.

Just In case, don’t remove the tip of some other guns, the orange tip might be attached to the barrel, and if you try to remove it, you’ll break it.

The plastic or metal threaded ones are simple. Soak the tip in boiled water or use a heat gun. It only takes about 30 seconds to a minute and the adhesive softens allowing you to unscrew with minimal force. You're not putting any unnecessary strain on the barrel or risking damage to the gun and the orange tip can be re attached if necessary. For the painted ones. I use nail polish remover containing acetone. Soak the painted portion for ten to fifteen minutes. The paint will soften allowing you to easily remove it with a toothbrush or any brush with plastic bristles. You don't want to use anything that may damage the original finish. If there's any paint remaining just repeat the process. I used this method on my H&K MP7's flash hider and you can't tell it was ever painted. I live in Canada where we aren't required to have the orange tips. Many of these airguns are imported from the US however and already have them. If you obey the laws in your area and treat airguns as you would any real firearm when it comes to transport etc, you won't have any problems.

This is very useful for when you use airsoft guns for film making, make it look more realistic. And obviously the gun would actually be loaded when you make the videos.

In Germany we don´t even need the orange tip :D The most cops are going to use pepperspray instead of guns cause here using a gun as cop means a lot of paperwork for them :D

Don’t do it this way! There is usually glue holding the orange tip on. Loosen the glue by holding the barrel end with tip in boiling water for a minute or so, they unscrew it. Much less stress on the barrel and inner workings of your airsoft gun!

There is good reason for “safety” and identification to have the orange tip, especially in US where more people legally own centerfire pistols. However one should be able to remove for use on private property. Just like any pistol you shouldn’t be wielding one in public unless you are defending yourself. Those saying “you’re going to get shot by police” clearly do not understand or have common sense regarding handgun ownership in the first place.

tbh the best luck I've had with removing threaded tips/flash hiders is to just heat up the barrel it's self (not the flash hider) with a hair dryer. maybe give it a try some time.

The tip is made of allumium right? I drilled a 3mm hole at bothe sides and I then used a metal rod to unscrew it but the thing wont move muscle so I saw off the whole plug....still got a piece inside de barrel. Hopefully it will not affect the muzzle flash...

In Canada we don't require orange tips, however, only airsoft guns with muzzle velocity above 366 fps(.20 gram BB) are legally allowed to be imported and sold in Canada.
