Nothing insane about it. Humans just like to think they have a monopoly on intelligence. Loads of animals are quicker and better at processing information than your average person. And if you ever interacted with a great ape and look one in the eyes you'd be a fool not to recognise the similarities between us and see their mind figuring you out just the same as you are figuring them out.
