The new Wild it’s not just a great ebike, it’s an amazing bike. I opted for the M10 model to gain more range, a lighter bike (mine is 22kg), with a Fox 170 38 at a reasonable price. This new Wild is a significant improvement in the eBike category. I've ridden over 250 miles on it, and it can now compete with ANY bike in the Enduro/All-Mountain market, not just other e-bikes. This new bike excels in climbing, descending, and playfulness, while still maintaining composure on the fastest rough sections. I was particularly interested in this particular video because I bought the Orbea Wild H20 two months ago after reading watching rave videos on RU-vid, the last bike I bought after RU-vid endorsement was the entry model Specialized Turbo Levo which I loved (2019) - got stolen! My concern is that the Ebike brands are soliciting paid reviews of their top, most expensive models from the popular RU-vid channels, tellingly these paid reviews all come out at the same time, literally. There is a big problem with this platform - the reviews profusely embellish the super expensive bikes (some of which may be true of course), however, ordinary joe like me are much more likely to buy the entry level bikes in the hope that they ride very similar to the top models. EMTB - ordinary joe/jane - middle aged with kids, short on time, relatively new to or returned to biking, investing oversized sum to feed his/her hobby. None of the top earning channels review the entry level bikes, nor do they actually say anything negative because of the conflict of interest. Hence, it is not clear, who is this bike for? The beginner, or the pro downhill enduro ace? We hear far too many numbers - so many millimetres or angles this and that (chain stay, BB, reach etc.) and not enough about how they ride and whether these bikes are value for money? Hence, the RU-vid channels are complicit in letting the industry get away with hastily thrown together lower end bikes that are seriously flawed, and still demand thousands of dollars/pounds/euros! My view after 2 month ownership is a degree of disappointment. The H20 is a monster truck, way too heavy, I did not expect that given that the top product is 20.8Kg! This is a major problem for intermediate/ early biker. The sheer weight detracts from being able to jump, turn, develop skill, and the poor fork/suspension platform can only described as dull and lacklustre. The internal battery and the ridiculous complicated headset with internal cables is just nuts. Importantly, something you did not point out - this is a front heavy bike, much more noticeable in my size small bike with big 750 battery taking up the whole length of the down tube. It is difficult to convince this bike to jump (more speed, more hop) and then control the tendency of front end dipping. Why oh why do I have to spend several thousand of hard earned cash to bring it up to speed? Should I really even try to bring the weight down - not possible. The result is that 2 months down the line, I am desperately trying to sell the bike and buy a Specialized - the market, as it is, I can't even get half price for a 2 month old bike. I do not believe the Orbea Wild 2023 Alloy models are value for money - period. It turns out, all the R&D went in to developing the carbon race winning models. There is a unhealthy collusion between industry and channels/social platforms that promote these bikes - it makes it impossible to get an honest view of products that are more expensive than the cars we drive.

Thanks for the good review. My Ltd is coming next week, very excited. I test rode one and it's hard to tell how heavy it is. It just doesn't matter! I used to pedal uphill on a 48 pound VPS in the old days. Happy trails to you. What's with the cheeky people anyway. It's your show wear what you like :).

Great review! I've just put in an order with my LBS for a WILD LTD model. But it won't be shipped until January 2024. I guess there's tons of demand for them. Really excited to have it ready for next season at least. I have an Orbea Rise to keep me entertained until then!

I'm looking at the Wild H30 and the Specialized Levo Alloy Comp, the Wild takes the edge on the budget with current sales, with keeping $1,200 in my pocket. I lack knowledge when it comes to components, and one thing that is frustrating watching/reading reviews, is that they are all based on the higher spec'd models, not the lower end entry level or one tier up models, so it's hard to put the review into perspective. Having just watched your video from today "Do MTB Components Matter?" has me questioning, what, if anything I should consider changing on the bike. I plan to ride it stock for the first bit and see how it handles. I suspect generally I may want to upgrade the brakes, but again I'll have to see how the Shimano MT410's perform. Another consideration is using what I'd save by buying the Wild over the Levo would be to upgrade the fork to something that is better than what both bikes come with. This will be my first eMTB. I'm a heavier rider (250lbs), and generally a Novice/Intermediate skill level. I enjoy the blues pretty much at any trailhead and venturing into the blacks, though that is not without talking some walk-arounds depending on the features. I do enjoy keeping two wheels on the ground, but I have confidence on small to medium drops, hitting some small tables, and avoid gaps and doubles like the plague. In the back of my head I question whether the Wild might have me overbiked, but perhaps it may also be the perfect bike. My rides vary from anything with low elevation XC style trails to downhill parks offering a solid mix of smooth flow trials and technical terrain. Based on your review, this could be a well rounded bike for me. The 625wh battery may cause some range anxiety, but I've read that Bosch is releasing a 250Wh range extender which would be useful on some of those longer rides. Really enjoyed the review format. Nice mix of you giving a face to face commentary and your riding footage.

Thanks for this informative video. I currently drive a Rallon and the old Wld FS. The Rallon is the best bike I've ever had and now I'm considering switching to the new Wild as the bikes are so similar.

Thanks for the great review. I note you prefer the Bosch motor characteristics and particularly how it assisted you in the really steep climbs. However, could you comment on how this compares to your Rocky Mountain Altitude experience specifically in terms of traction when climbing and then downhill experiences.

Super in-depth review, amazing job! Your local trails look so good, too. By any chance do you know anything about the weight of the 2023 alu models? (H10 etc). I'm toying with the idea of one of those but also the Strive:on, but don't know if the customer support would be better with one over the other.

I'm about to purchase my first emtb and after researching all brands it seems the Orbea Wild would be the best suited for my needs. Unfortunately, the M-Team is a bit out of my budget so I'm trying to decide between the Wild M10 or Wild H10 and I've struggled to find detailed reviews justifying the additional cost for the M10 and was wondering if you would have any feedback or recommendations. I'm not quite sure if it makes sense to spend the extra $1300 to try and reduce the weight for an ebike.

Great review - seems like one of the best full power e-bikes on the market right now. Debating between this and the Fezzari Timp Peak - the value is there and component spec is top notch but seems like the bosch system is the best right now in comparison to the Shimano. Would love to see you do a review on the Timp Peak if you get the opportunity.

Great review! Have you tried the alloy version? There are no reviews out there of the H model which makes it very difficult to know whether to spend a lot more money on the carbon model.

Hi , I want to consult with you about the size of this amazing bike, im about to order the 2024 model and my hight is 1.80 m. Im trying to figure out if I need to take the medium or large size, now im riding the 2022 wild fs on large size and I feel really good with that, but I saw that in the new geometry (2023) the reach, wheel base, stack and probably everything is larger even on the medium size comparing to the 2022 large size except the top tube length. thats why im hesitating maybe the new large size will be to big for me. Appriciate any help, Thank you, Yuval
