well she's a juvenile which helps. the elders don't do that. yeah they're incredibly fast for their size and have incredible stamina as well. they can swim around 30 mph almost indefinitely. amazing creatures but also incredibly cautious around us if we happen to be swimming or diving amongst them. they know the difference!
@@leecowell8165 The elders can do it too. Forgotten that Tilikum could jump so high and he was 30 feet. He had to do it while in Freedom they can choose to do it.
@@leecowell8165not indefinitely. Large baleen whales, like blue whales, have an endurance advantage over orcas. Their size and endurance is their defense. If they do get caught unawares by a large enough pod though, yes, they are finished.
@@walkawaycat431 But you do know they aren’t the same thing right? I mean, do you call orcas “dolphins”? Do you call sharks “fish”? I’m guessing not. But they are fish…just like orcas are dolphins. Do you call ducks “birds”? What do you call whale sharks? They are fish as well but you don’t call them fish, you call them “whale sharks”. In my statement I’m referring to the bottle nose, Atlantic, Tucuxi, Fraser’s dolphin etc that are known for jumping, riding boat waves and surfing. Which are all called dolphin, not orcas. I’m not sure where you were going with that one but you didn’t get that “gotcha” moment that you pictured in your head dipshit
@@walkawaycat431 But do you call orcas dolphins? Asking for a friend. Also both are whales. Do you call them whales? I’m guessing not. And you probably call orcas “orcas” bc they’re not the same as dolphins. Do you call penguins “birds”?
@@jessiefrye3045 ohhh shit really?? No way dude! I had no idea. That’s radical man. Cowabunga!! 😂 sounds silly to say dolphin is so cool till another dolphin comes in. You have to distinguish them.
@@MonkeyD.Willzayes only the liver and they are extremely precise in reaching it. the shark is not torn apart but is only opened at the liver and the orcas are so intelligent that they understood that the sharks entered into catalepsy (a sort of trance) when they were placed on their backs making them immobile
I think I saw some cases of attack but they were never intended to kill and eat some scientists said it was because humans accidentally or deliberately injured their family or something makes me realize they are even more intelligent than i thought
I just learned that Orcas have the most powerful bites in the world way more powerful than Lions, Crocs and even a T-Rex. Here is the complete list - 1. **Orca (Killer Whale)** 19,000 psi 2. **Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex)**: 8,000 to 12,800 psi (estimated) 3. **Great White Shark**: 4,000 psi 4. **Saltwater Crocodile**: 3,700 psi 5. **Nile Crocodile**: 3,000 psi 6. **American Alligator**: 2,980 psi 7. **Hippopotamus**: 1,825 psi 8. **Jaguar**: 1,500 psi 9. **Gorilla**: 1,300 psi 10. **Hyena**: 1,100 psi 11. **Tiger**: 1,050 psi 12. **Grizzly Bear**: 975 psi 13. **Lion**: 650 psi 14. **Human**: 160-200 psi
Pretty sure that dolphin was swimming like crazy for its life, trying to jump out of the water to lose the orca. I don't think it was wanting to impress tourists.
PHYSICS!!! Time: 1,7 Sec > Speed 30km/h > Hight: 3m Means: The Orca‘s size is under 4m. (3,5m?) Analysis: > Young 15 years old Female! (bowed swordfin) > Charismatic future Leadercow (bowed Tailfin = male Gens) > Individuum, practising (Fail!) her technique. THE COMMON STAR OF THE UPCOMMING GENERATION!
Brutal nature… Orca said, “remember that little bottle nose you and your boys held under the other day until it stopped breavin well, it’s yo turn in the barrel today Toby”
Maaaaaan, to be that much bigger and to jump that much higher is astounding. These guys are the epitome of athleticism and fast twitch fiber…as if being the smartest wasn’t enough…sheesh
dolphins are actually slightly faster (something like 5km/hour faster, not much) over a short distance but orcas have better endurance. If a dolphin get sawed off from the pod, yeah, they're in trouble.
We don't even get to see the best part. Orcas and Dolphins (I know Orcas are indeed Dolphins) live in pots. If we see two individuals jumping there must be about 20 or more underneath. Maybe not exactly in the same place but very close.
That's not true people were helping a dolphin get untangled from wires then one of the guys were underwater and the shark was attacking them but the orca attacked it so they couldn't get hurt then a blue whale came and scared the shark off and the the humans pet the blue whale and then they were on there way
Genesis 1:21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
they're completely harmless to us even thought they ARE the top apex predator on the planet. in fact they are very cautious if we're swimming or diving amongst them. See some video of Dr Ingrid Visser they actually bring her "food".
