@@jessann9212 ....If you actually look at nature, you will see "ruination" everywhere -- such as orcas "ruining" the lives of various other creatures of the sea, in order to eat, but also to play with their prey (throwing it about) before eating them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bk1VdQxeTn4.html . Yes, "the animals" ARE here for humans (just as seal pups are "here" for the orcas). Human predation and exploitation of nature is every bit as "natural" as all of the other predation and exploitation by other living entities.
WOW...just WOW!! That has got to be the best, awesome-est, amazing, video I've ever seen.. I can only imagine what it was like to be right on the edge so close to them ! WOW

@@hannahburke7328 that's exactly what it's like!! They get to take a break from swimming and they love the rocks are very small and roll easily as they head straight over and into them. It gives them a great massage, as well as gets rid of any pests on their delicate skin. They play around with each other with no worries about absolutely anything. They don't even worry about us being there. Absolute trust and respect for us and from us. So ya, it's like a couple hours at the best spa ever!!! Sorry I am just so very passionate about our resident Orca, obviously all Orca, I just have a special place in my heart for our Residents lol. I didn't mean to write you a letter 🤭 Take care and cheers! 🦋🇨🇦
So beautiful!! I love orcas so much 🖤 you guys are so lucky. Canada is a magical country. Here in Mexico you can also see orcas at the Sea of Cortez in Baja California.
While I lament the loss of your baby pics, the footage you've captured here is spectacular! I live in the Pacific NW and this is the kind of moment I live to experience personally. Lucky yous!

Damien Austin That’s actually a real thing. There is no other reason for the whole pod to come this close to a shore with no prey. I’m sure you knew that though. No, I wasn’t being sarcastic.
MAybe this is a main reason why I don't recall seeing Orcas with Barnacles like bigger whales often have. Perhaps this rubs them off at the early stage? Or is there another reason they seem to avoid them?
I'm loving listening to your comments in the background, it's hilarious and I'm sure a lot of people are thinking it too! But what amazes me is obviously they know they can't be beached there as the rocks are small and loose and roll with them unlike sand where they'd just sink. That being said, the young ones are the most curious and brave and will get as close to something it wants to see, that being you. He kept coming over and for a second I almost thought he was going to be on shore! Until you take a look behind him and you see this 5ft dorsal fin coming closer and closer behind him and then your curiosity goes from baby to this absolutely enormous, breathtaking, stunning creature!! You're so lucky to be able to experience that and I'm hoping that I can come in July/August of 2023. Thanks for sharing your beautiful footage and making the rest of us jealous! Cheers ☺️
They come withing 30' of shore closer to town as well and they go by quite regularly. This was shot on an island a little North of here. I was working with this crew on a few jobs on the island.
@@niceprguy2 OMG!!!! I'm SO VERY HAPPY to hear you say that!!! Cuz wouldn't that also be a very illegal act as well? Damn, I feel so stupid!! Honestly, I'm not that slow........🙄
It sure is cool getting close to them.. They have been going past right in front of Powell River quite a bit over the past few months.. One spot they come in close to shore. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IwPaQT3Pr4k.html

I am so jealous of you right now. Orcas are my favorite animals and I've never been that close to one in my life. Only one I ever saw was the one in Miami Seaquarium when I was 7 back in '99.
At to whoever posted this... What landmark was this that you saw these beautiful Orca's?? Edit: After watching the whole video this was the most friendly, majestic, gorgeous, habitat video of my favorite water animals (Orca's/Killer Whales).... Too be blessed in their presence is an honor! Thank you for sharing this video! Soooo much THANKS!!!!!!!-
+niceprguy2 hi, thanks for replying :) we are going to hire a car and stay for a week in Alert Bay, with a couple of days spent on Malcolm island - is this where you filmed this?
+LauraQuilt Alert Bay is a real cool place.. :) It is fairly close to Malcolm Island where this video was shot.. can't say exactly where though as we were asked by fisheries and oceans canada not to.. Malcolm Island is a good place to see these exact whales doing the same thing.. I hope that they put on a show for you when you are there! :)
+niceprguy2 ahh that's brilliant, thanks so much for replying back, it's gonna be a dream come true if I see them, I'm going to book a lot of whale watching trips and dedicate a couple of days to the beach to hopefully catch this, one way or another I will see orca!! Ha
+LauraQuilt I live in Powell River which is just South of where you are going, and we see the Orcas quite regularly, as well as other whales and dolphins. You are going to have fun! ;)
Wow 😮 fantastic unreal cool 😎 nice 👍 hey there’s not dangerous for Humans we have a few over here 😊👍✊✊. Keep up the great work videos I enjoyed it to the end 👍👍✊✊✊. Stay safe out there okay Cheers my Friend 👨✈️😊😎👍✊✊✊✊
I watched the video twice😍... It's so beautiful and amazing! They're a gorgeous and fascinating creatures. I love them. Thanks for the video. Really amazing!😊💖👍👍✌
niceprguy2 I came here to reply your comment and watched the video again😂👍. Ugh... You were so fortunate having this amazing experience. Blessings to you and family😊💖👍✌
niceprguy2 I forgot to ask you... What would you think happen if you put soft music for them to listen? If you have the opportunity to do it, please take a video of it. A lot of people here really want to see their reaction to that.😉 Much appreciated😊💖✌
I should put a waterproof speaker in the water with the soft music near the shore and try it.. :) they don't come here on a regular schedule so I would have to be lucky to see them.. :)
@@northernangel8359 There is a place right in town where they swim by, and they are only 50' from shore. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IwPaQT3Pr4k.html
@@niceprguy2 getting in the water with the whales wouldnt be recommended. It is illegal to swm with, touch, feed, chase or otherwise harass marine mammals. It was kinda foolish to encourage the other people to run into the water and touch the orcas....glad no one did that.
This is my favourite orca video I've ever seen! This is my dream right here. I'm thinking of spending some time on the north island this fall. Although I would love more clues to where this is it seems it's not actually on the powell river side?
The bull is huge, look at the size of his dorsal fin , jeez . They all came in to scratch their bellies, and backs on the pebbles in the water. It's how they get rid of parasites
@@niceprguy2 oh I wish I had the opportunity to see them in the wild like this . I won't pay to see them in an aquarium freak show . They all need to be free . On very rare occasions, we'll get a rogue humpback whale come into the bay here in NJ to feed. We had Beluga once , but it's very rare . I love Oracas their amazing animal's. I can't wait to see your new video
OMG you all are so luck to have had that experience I on the other hand would've jumped right on in there and played with them they were so close to you :) please tell me where this was at so I can move there Orcas are my favorite ocean animal I'd give anything to study them and be around them all day such beautiful and smart animals thank you for sharing your incredible experience with all of us
You have to study marine biology first lol. It is illegal to swim with, feed, touch or otherwise harass cetaceans. Huge fines and jail time if you are found guilty. It is tempting to get closer and 'play with' them, but these are wild beings and it is better to be respectful and give them space.

lol They show up every so often, but not on a regular schedule.. you are too funny.. and yes you can contact me through my email... There were some out in front of here this morning as well as 3 Humpback whales who were breaching throughout the day.. :) It is so nice to live here.
niceprguy2 You Betcha!! 👍🏼 I never called Orcas killer whales! I’m glad you didn’t in your video title!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The dorsal fin on that male was Huge!! I probably would have had to run in for a quick touch .... or Not!! 😂
Can you please tell me what time of the year this took place? My wife and I are wanting to visit the area and we want to be there when the weather is perfect for such an activity.

They are teaching the young ones how to rub themself's on the small round pebbles that make up the ocean bottom at this location. It must feel good to them. Thanks for watching. :)
B A --- Lol!!! I happen to be an Animal Behaviour Specialist specialising in Orcas, dogs and birds..If there"s anyone who knows animals...it's Me!! Lol!! Especialy the 3 kinds I have mentioned above ! I know very well the rules and laws regarding these Beautiful Creatures!! And I also know that they LOVE human interactions, hence why they chose that specific spot on the beach to go scratch their bellies and also why they got that close to shore! The Northern Resident Orcas are not known for going that close to shore unlike the Patagonian and New Zealand Orcas...So this is a suuuper special and once in a lifetime moment for the people who witnessed this!!
+stephanie daigle you know they love human interaction, because you can talk to animals?? Are you sure you’re not just a Pokémon trainer? All it takes is one simple accident for these animals to seriously injure someone. Then all the work people have done to preserve their image will go out the window, just because “experts” like you want to be down with a group of wild animals.
They are rubbing themselves on the small pebbles on the bottom of th ocean.. Experts think it is like getting a massage.. :) and we all know massages are good.. :)
@@niceprguy2 Really good place! I want there and see this picture, but I think it's unreal, just in dreams. Yeah, it looks like place in my dream. Just dream)
