Thank you for the review, looks like a really useful light. Btw, activating a dive light by turning the head is actually the most reliable mechanism. That’s why you find really no other mechanism used in technical diving back-up lights.
although the instructions in the dive light indicates that turn on the light before being submerged and turning it off upon surfacing. and if you take up a night dive specialty course, they say the same thing. it is to insure that no water would get inside the light...
The light is sealed with o-rings. O-rings are not designed to seal while moving, though under low pressure they may seal sufficiently. So the deeper you dive, the more risk you take that the o-rings will leak while you spin the head.
