Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I received a rescue orchid as a gift that has crown rot one yellow leaf but excellent root system. Two 30-inch tall flower spikes with buds. Wow. I put the cinnamon powder on the stump of the crown and the junction of the leaf. I'm praying I can save this one! I'm hopeful now that I watched your excellent video.
There are so many sites that tell you to use hydrogen peroxide then cinnamon. I ended up killing an orchid by doing that. Your advice of using just the cinnamon is best and should be what others are saying. I wish I would have seen your video first. I was able to help someone else save their orchid by sharing this video and learning from my own experience. Thanks for posting this excellent video!
Hello! I’m so glad I saw this video; a few of my orchids roots are still green I’ve lost all but one leaf and it is about to go.this has been happening over the past month. Is it too late to sprinkle cinnamon on the crown? Please advise. I’m so sad for the possible loss of this gorgeous orchid. My others are doing very well. Thank you.
I have challenged myself to safe this orchid that belong to my friend’s late mother. Oh my goodness the roots are all gone but there still a fairly green crown. I am not only trying to get roots to come but also save the crown. I’m confused on what you mean by keep the plant dry but water normally. I don’t want to fail. I wish I could share a photo so I could find out if it’s a hopeless cause.
If you water normally - the roots will get water, but the upper part of the plant will stay dry. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sfo8JIjtkH0.html
Okay, mine doesn't look as bad as the 50/50 one. But I tried cinnamon and think I might have over dried it. So idk what to do now. I was told cut the flower spike off to save it. What else?
I just found your video. I accidentally left my phalaenopsis soaking for over three days and all of the leaves fell off along with two new blooming buds! One of the stems dried out and there are no visible green roots. The stringy roots left are dry. Is it too late to save?
My orchid is losing leaves, but not from the top down as you describe. The leaves also looked green and relatively healthy. Do you know what might have happened?
He mentioned that it's perfectly normal for them to yellow from the bottom. The bottom leaves are older than the higher ones, and they to do that as they grow new top ones. No worries 😉💚
If I've lost all my leaves and the roots have gone hollow and dry is there still hope I have 2 green roots, ill have a better look later but I have 3 with the same problem?
